    Bradford sack Hughes

There were many raised eyebrows when Bradford appointed Mark Hughes in Feb 2022. A manager with such a track record managing in League 2 was unheard of in the modern day game. So when you factored in that they are the biggest club in the division with regular crowds of 17,000 it was hardly surprising that I,and many others, thought that they would be romping the division within a season.Apart from a feeble play-off attempt last year,I expect no one believed his time at the club would end up being so insipid.

This may sound daft but was he out of his depth, lower league football is totally different to what he’s used to,a lot of big name managers have failed in the lower leagues.
