    Kompany

    Dear Turfites,

I've been wondering about Vincent Kompany and his managerial abilities; what are your thoughts on him? He obviously got you promoted and was, for a while, considered a promising prospect - has his fortunes turned or how do you see the situation?

    NUFC fan in peace.

The summer transfer window was an inexplicable disaster, from which we are still trying to recover. I'm inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt and our owners are fully invested in him, so he'll be given time to pull it round. I may be in a minority though, his honeymoon period is certainly over for a lot of our fans.

I’m still with him and I’m sure if given patience and time he’ll sort it.

It’s a bit chicken and egg as recruitment was built around young prospects that can shine and excel in this league - what they forgot to do was buy a few seasoned footballers to keep us and the youngsters in the shop window for long enough to develop and sell on.

Kompany is an intelligent individual with a brilliant work ethic and eye for detail he’s a winner not a loser - he’ll turn it around.

Some on here have short memories dross Dyche ball was the pits for me personally anyway ( I appreciate he wasn’t backed ) but he never tried youth - never changed shape and loved to defend for 84 mins a game.

I remember driving home many times totally demoralised

I also think he is a good manager but only in the mould of Pep and Arteta meaning that if you gave him half a billion to spend we would probably be in the top six with VK.Unfortunately we will never have that kind of money to spend so tactics need to change because Vinnie can train this lot till the cows come home and they will never be good enough to compete in the PL playing the way he wants to play. They are either too young and inexperieced, too lightweight, too old or simply not good enough except for 3 or 4 players.

I agree with you Army. I'm sure VK realizes he was too optimistic about his recruits but a guy who played at his level for so long just can't be ignorant about the game though I am sometimes mystified by some decisions. Sure the fans are disappointed but it's not over yet.
