Perhaps the current leadership are starting to act like grown ups and desist from throwing a strop every time Thatcher's name is mentioned. The Independent piece seems more like internal political infighting than anything else to me, I read the Sunday Telegraph piece, Starmer makes one favourable reference to Thatcher, an attempt to curry favour with wavering Tories no doubt, but the headline writers were all over it and the Loony Left toys come flying out of their prams. Storm in a Lefty tea cup.

Starmer the new top Tory eulogises the very woman who sold off council flats and social housing in the 1980s.

Thirty years later and we all wake up to realise that none have been built to replace them and 40% of the United Kingdom’s housing stock is now in the hands of largely unscrupulous profit orientated private landlords.

In 1979, we all owned our shared utilities and 7% of us owned shares. Today, 8% of us own shares, the rest own nothing, everything is critically more expensive, and our rivers, waterways and beaches are full of raw sewage.

We all suffer from the underinvestment on our railways, utility bills are out of control and fuel prices are largely dictated by private voracious profiteers.

Thank you, Margaret, one heck of a job. Starmer in the meantime no doubt will continue to support the IDF carpet bombing of Arab kids.

    Vote for Starmer?

I would rather chew my own thumb off without anaesthetic.

One sentence is hardly a eulogy, in fact in fact it wasn't a eulogy, but since when did Lefties let the truth, the facts, spoil a good story ?

It might not have occurred to you mon ami but St Margaret was deposed as Tory leader 33 years ago, since then we've had 13 years of Labour and 13 years of the Not The Conservative Party. To blame St Margaret for our current problems is frankly ludicrous, but the words ludicrous and Lefty are by no means unusual in the same sentence.

What I see in Starmer is a politician intent on winning the next election, that he finds something useful in the record of a politician who won three of them is hardly surprising, but neither is the Pavlovian response of Leftoids at the very mention of St Margaret's name. Poor Sir Keir, he has to persuade the great British public that this bunch of infantile, hypocritical, Lefty virtue signallers he presides over are fit to run the country, when they are so clearly are not. Still not to worry, the Tories are making themselves more unelectable by the day, so Leftoids in Downing St, it will be. God help us.

That's what they want us to believe Sub, but you and me both know that Dystopia is what we're going to get, and plenty of it. Here's my prediction, such a fecking shambles it will be that they will change the voting system to mitigate the wrath of the people at the subsequent general election, out will go first past the post, in will come PR and votes at 16. While the Tories squabble and fight and contrive to lose the next election, I don't think they realise they're on the verge of extinction as a political force in this country, and by the time it does dawn on them, it will be too late.

    That’s pretty accurate Sinkov

Thing is the Tories shouldn’t have lied to northern folk because it’s biting them on the backside now
We really are in a fix at the minute - I’m confident Labour will get rid of public money though - question is on what. ?

Looking at the latest figures, it certainly won't be spent on defence, in fact, they will make big cuts because they will pour money into trying to mend the broken NHS ---that will not succeed either, sadly.
    Well and truly f***ed.

I have absolutely no idea how any political party could sort this $hitfest out.

Sunak and Starmer can't that is for certain.
