I didn't realise that there was a Pontins in the Rother District and it's just closed down with locals in fear that it will be used for asylum seekers. Fortunately for Madsters the river Rother in question here is in Camber Sands, East Sus***. Having read the reviews about the 'holiday camp' on booking.com I think it may be the asylum seekers who will be complaining if they get placed there

I once had the misfortune of enduring a holiday at Camber Sands.
Thé one in Wales as well is going to be used.
Another 2000+ at the air base where the red arrows were based. It’s also the home of the dam busters. 700 locals in the village will share it with the 100% male immigrants.
Disgusting that the former RAF base should be used, no consideration given the local residents not to mention the history of the place!
Dinghy boys won’t be happy with the accommodation , they are used to four star hotels. But let’s spare a thought for the thousands of our homeless on the streets this Christmas.
Wasn’t the Scampton site going to be used for an enterprise zone creating 1000s of jobs? Is that out the window I think the villagers are taking it to court
Totally agree re the history part
The legal challenge was by West Lindsey District Council (WLDC) not the locals.
WLDC's solicitors argued that the previous home secretary (Suella Braverman) mis-used a special planning regulation (section Q) which basically says that full planning permission is not required when the usage does not exceed 12 months.
She then instructed the works to commence, without planning consent from WLDC, with the intention of using the air base accommodation blocks for "several years". This latter bit has been confirmed by the home office and the new home secretary (James Cleverley).
WLDC are going to appeal at the High Court, as are the legal for the other air base in Es***.
A great example of "abuse of power".
RAF Finningley, Doncaster was used to house refugees when when the base closed, taking over the RAF family housing.
I was working in Finningley at the time, work mates wife was in charge of them.
The base had a post office on it, & she had to show them how to carry on with the money.
Coaches were laid on to take the refugees shopping to the Dunhelm shop in Rotherham, closed to the general public,
they picked what they wanted from the store for free, paid by the government, through Doncaster council.
Then the coaches took the refugees to Currys, for them to pick televisions, fridges / fridgefreezers / microwaves /
washing machines etc, again paid through Doncaster council, by the government.
Mate & his wife lived in Gainsborough, she got fed up of getting called out regular by the police in Doncaster,
because some refugees were going boozing in Doncaster, getting into fights, & getting locked up, in the early
hours 2am-3am of the morning, where she had to get them out of the cells.
The refugees were given a mobile phone, plus a £10 voucher to put minutes on it every week, all the councils
did this.
When I questioned a Rotherham councillar about the £10 voucher he denied it, but I told him I knew, he wanted
to know where I got the information from, to which I declined.
Actually I got it from my sons partner who worked for Rotherham Council, sadly my son & his partner have passed
away.
Things she told me, from buying cars, train passes etc by the council's through the government.
