    Kevin Keegan and women commentators

Getting pilloried for saying he doesn't like women commentators passing their judgement on men's football. We've talked about it in the pub tonight and everyone was behind him. However the equality diversity brigade have gone to town on this and he's getting hammered for his opinions.

Just takes some getting used to. A bit like women bus drivers 40 years ago but they are commonplace today.

So Keegan is ok with the women to pay good money to go and watch football but thinks they shouldn't have an opinion on it?

He didn’t say they shouldn’t have an opinion he said he doesn’t like listening to them.
    What’s wrong with that?
That’s the problem now everyone is looking to be offended on someone else’s behalf.
He gave an honest opinion I bet loads more agree but won’t dare say so because of cancel culture.
    Fair play to him.

This is what he actually said...

“I’m not as keen, I’ve got to be honest, and it may not be a view shared. I don’t like to listen to ladies talking about the England men’s team at the match because I don’t think it’s the same experience. I have a problem with that.”

“The presenters we have now, some of the girls are so good, they are better than the guys. It’s a great time for the ladies. But if I see an England lady footballer saying about England against Scotland at Wembley and she’s saying, ‘If I would have been in that position I would have done this,’ I don’t think it’s quite the same. I don’t think it crosses over that much.”

My take on this is.if they are good at it and got the gig on how good they are then I have no problem with it all,Jaqui Oakley has been doing a longtime started on five live years ago perhaps long before the woke and inclusion era.and she is knowledgable and good at it.sue smith is more of a pundit but she is enthusiastic and knows what she is saying.. Pien Meulens**** is another good one and good at her job commentating..men or woman they are good at it…

However there are some what have been shoehorned in and clearly are good enough to commentate or pundit and are there just for tick box and it’s then I don’t like, for balance there are some men who I don’t like either..

To sum up they should be there on merits is my view, like BAME football managers and the Rooney rule got at least interview one BAME candidate.is just ludicrous that it really is.again should be on merit.
