Sander Berge took the ball out of his own half, kept on going and scored. I can't recall seeing any other Burnley player scoring after a run which started in our half. Anyone know if it's been done before ?

Tommy Cummings goals was on 19 January 1952 and would most likely be very pleasing for a Sunderland born player!
We had lost 1-7 at St James' Park early in the season.

It was before my time (I had not even been born!) but I read about Tommy’s amazing exploit and as it was so outstanding the telling of it stuck in my memory. Some goals do live on. Paul Fletcher v Leeds United 1974 and Wade Elliott’s stunner v Sheffield United in the 2009 Play Off Final are amongst others. Originally Posted by Supersub6
