O/T The Persuaders - Curtis and Moore

Just watching an episode circa 70-71.

There was a scene where Tony Curtis meets US Intelligence on the pitch at Watford FC. What a s.hithole their ground was then. It looked worse than Millmoor.

Did anyone on here visit Vicarage Road about the same time, if so was it really that bad?

My first visit to Watford wasn’t until about 1979 when we drew 2-2. I remember it being a bit of a dump then but, to be fair most grounds were in the days before all seater stadiums.

Speaking of Watford Brin. Going back to 1969 I stumbled upon an online programme for our game at Watford that year, which was only one of three games played in the whole country, due to the bad weather.
It was unfortunately picked as one of the games on Match of the Day which I remember watching as an 11 year old. Actually it wasn’t a bad result comparing it with our result there this season. We lost 5-1.
That said the programme is a good rest with a nice colour photo of the team at the time which contains some real famous names in our team.

    Hope you enjoy it :

Sorry it was in black & white.
Have a look at the League Table. Some interesting teams in there.

Ps Watford went up that year along with Swindon Town who were, at the time managed by Millers legend Danny Williams.

Thanks pal. Some interesting facts there and look at that team sheet! Oh for the likes of Watson in our defence now.
