Just watched the highlights to confirm my thoughts on the first goal. No wonder SK is an angry man. To allow Shankland a free header when he's standing between Mugabi and McGinn is poor poor stuff.

Shankland is scoring goals for fun and we give him the freedom of our area to score. We seem to have adopted a zone marking style of defence, but I have never seen or heard of a zone scoring a goal. Our defenders need to learn quickly how to man mark and put a physical presence in our area when defending cross balls. We have lost numerous goals this season from corners, set pieces by being out muscled by the opposition. The second Hearts goal today SOD is knocked to the ground by the Hearts player who out manoeuvres and uses his body to win the ball, never a foul in a million years. We need to get street wise in our defending and fast as the games in the bottom six split are going to be more of a physical nature than good football

Do you think Bair had any impact on game ?
IMO flatters to deceive and unless on a plate more often AWOL.

Bair did ok given he had no service, he's certainly not the problem I'd take from yesterday.

Our efforts defending set pieces are laughable, pub teams would have sorted this out quicker than us.

In the first half we contained Hearts without being really troubled. We then caused them some real problems for the first 10 minutes or so in the second half, but the game turned when they brought on Oda and we took off Gent. That took away our attacking threat down that side and, at the same time, opened our left flank up for their attack. From then on we were on the back foot. As others say, Shankland had too much freedom to score (Casey was backpedaling and could not match his jump) and Vargas scored what was a really well taken goal. Obika contributed nothing and I cannot see any reason to retain his services. Ferrie had a couple of good touches and did not look out of place, albeit in a short time on the pitch. We need a commanding centre half at the start of next season, whatever division we are in.
