Middlesbough had a early-bird period price to get season cards for next season, [Ended 30th March]

The club have annouced a 6% price rise on season cards for next season, which has caused anger
& controversy from sections of supporters.

The early bird offer has attracted 17,000 season cards sales for 2024-25 season, this time last year
for the 2023-24 season attracted 19,000 on early bird sales, so 2,000 down in numbers this time.
The club sold another 2,000 season cards 2023-24 later, so had a total of 21,000 for this season.

Boro explained the rise being due to increasing costs of running the Riverside Stadium on a match-day,
certain supporters expressed their dismay at the prices & said they were unable to renew as a result.

4,000 supporters have taken advantage of a easy payment scheme of spreading the costs, into 4
payments for the new season card.

The club said, business rate hikes & a rise in minimum wage hitting the club, in which the club calculated
they would make a extra £400,000 if they sold the same number of season cards as for the 2023-24
season, but are down 2,000 on early bird tickets.

Business rate hikes cost the club a extra £110,000 - Match-day service security & cleaning staff, the new
rate of the minimum wage, costing the club £300,000.
Thats before - Increase of energy prices, general cost of maintainence, upkeep, replenishment, & repair
jobs at the Riverside Stadium in order to keep it fit for purpose.

* The club have actually calculated, they would be financially better off if they paid their supporters £10
per-match to stay away, because it would allow the club to remove the match-day costs like staff,
security & stadium upkeep.
