    Today's game

May as well have played it behind close doors like yesterday's was pointless not having full squad to use. Was there couldn't draw no conclusions from that only doesn't do much for for the players confidence when players that can make things happen are missing.

Very dull game with just half a squad really. I was looking forward to seeing everyone play and get an idea how we would set up next week at Exeter. I think the young lads that came on in 2nd half didn't look out their depths especially Holmes and Hatton who looked decent.

I know what you mean but isn't it about making sure the whole squad is sharp and fully fit, as well as some fringe players having one last chance to make a starting claim against those three manager knows about. True equally that it seems also a chance missed to piece the first team together to find cohesion but guess Evans has gone for the former.

How besotted with the Millers am I? On beautiful algarve beach with daughter, perfect weather, blue sky, blue sea and some of the best bums in Europe but when seeing checking the starting line up and noticing the game was being streamed out was a case of "shall we?" "Oh yes" so we spent 2 hours of the best part of the afternoon under a towel so we could avoid screen glare! Wish we'd carried on sunbathing now but good to see some of the squad players. Up the Millers!

Holmes looks quite lively I agree. Good signing to boost the squad but may take him time to get up to speed with a big jump in level for him

Went myself this is just one game but here goes:
Positives Hungbo looks a real box of tricks going to be a fan’s favourite
Was really impressed with Macdonald he was on set pieces and takes a decent corner also a decent throw something as basic as this was sadly missing last year
Clarke Harris to say it was only his second 45 minutes looked dangerous
McCart is a mystery to me whenever I’ve seen him he’s looked decent but many managers know better than me and deem him surplus! If he goes someone’s getting a decent defender
Negatives I thought Kelly would be a decent passer but kept losing the ball sometimes in dangerous places
Esapa Osong very frustrating and skilful in equal measure can see him driving our fans nuts
Both these players I’ll give the benefit of the doubt in that they had a bad game

Think Jack Holmes will be a favourite too with his never say die attitude just wants the ball

To summarise we are a work in progress which MAY take a while to gel positives for me are we will create chances as we have skill pace and variety on the wings the likes of Hugill and JCH can have no excuses I think the supply will be there
Hungbo looked particularly dangerous when he was moving with the ball towards the middle of the pitch and slid 2 great passes between the opposition defenders

SE is quoted as saying that Holmes did very well in the private friendly with swfc on Friday

The more I see of Holmes the more I like him. Always seems to be on the move. Maybe needs to be a bit more conservative and save his energy. He certainly looks like being the new fans favorite.
