He was the regular keeper when I started watching the Millers

Very reliable and a good servant to the club

I started watching the Millers around the time Roy succeeded Jock Quairney as our keeper. We didn't change keepers very often, both played over 200 games. Roy was solid, dependable and as Grist says a good servant over 10 years or so. RIP.

Very sad news. Like for many on here a boyhood hero. His death breaks another link that tied me to my Rotherham childhood.

    Rest in peace, Roy.

Only Ken Houghton left now from the 1961 League Cup Final team.

So sad to hear this, the first goalkeeper I really got to know. RIP Roy.
