    Eddie Howe

I’ll say one thing: it’s refreshing to have a manager who’s confident in his own abilities to get enough out of the players he already has at his disposal. The vast majority of managers lay the blame of failure with the players and are always complaining that they need more signings.
It’s a big risk on his part too because a poor season will put his position under pressure. I think our lack of market activity is largely due to not having European football this season and could be strategic vis a vis PSR.

It does seem strange not to be able to find a RW better than we already have for 50 million quid????

In my opinion, Eddie Howe should be untouchable again this season. Sure, he makes some mistakes from a tactical perspective but he hasn't been backed at all. The board and Paul Mitchell have (so far) massively let Eddie down. Once he gets two players in each position up to full fitness and we can go back to the full press, we'll be a nightmare for teams to play again.

He’ll get judged based on what he has.
No chance anyone will (or should) just excuse everything till he gets 2 players fully fit in every position.
Allowances will be made for who is available to him though obviously.

That said… we’ve been poor so far this season, for the majority of both games we’ve looked lacking in energy, no press (at the start of the season) and, in n the main, pretty disinterested.

Still early season, but he’s had all these players starting (other than Kelly) all pre season - some less than others due to international commitments, so their condition and cohesiveness (or lack of it) is down to him.

Not a good start from anyone, Howe or Mitchell, but I think that the window closing, no matter who comes in or doesn’t, will at least shut down all that and then it’ll be down to Eddie and the players to show us what they are capable of.
