OT James - Scarborough Open Air Theatre

I went to this last night and was really impressed.
James whipped though 40 plus years of old and new stuff for 2 hours of musical mastery with plenty of improvising and genius.
The venue doesn’t have a bad view and the security are helpful and bars fast and efficient.

One of the best gigs I have been to. NBL

Buddy, my girls saw Sir Tom there a couple of years ago and said it was a very good venue.

It's a cracking venue as long as it does not rain. We normally book accommodation and get a last minute return ticket from the box office outside, always some available and there is not a bad view in the place.

Really wanted to see Keane a couple of years ago but there was a deluge all night and last year after days of sun a massive thunderstorm erupted at 5pm and continued throughout most of Stings performance.

As I work in Sherburn, I spend a lot of time in Scarborough to save on my travelling. They have had some great bands/acts there recently. Paul Weller, Tom Jones, Simple Minds to name a few. Accommodation when big acts are on can be quite difficult to find at a reasonable price. If it’s just a bed for the night with no trimmings you seek I can highly recommend Scarborough Tec who offer rooms for £29 PN. Clean, warm and dry with a kitchen on each floor shared between 6 rooms. It suits me for work.

The wife and I stayed in an apartment on North Marine Way and the Bay window at the back overlooked the cricket pitch - The landlady told me that people rent it for Yorkshire matches and sit at the window drinking and eating all day.
