Don Masson is 78 today, happy birthday Don. Oh for a clone of him playing for us now.

The best player I've ever seen in a Notts County shirt.

    Happy birthday Don.

Ditto! And I believe Colin Slater was of the same view. Happy Birthday Don

Was runner up to Pat Jennings in the PFA Player of the Year, despite running the who for QPR and Tottenham having an average year with a fair number of goals conceded.

Spurs had the 7th worst goals against record in the league 1975/76, averaging 1.50 against per game. Looks like Don was robbed.

Likewise in my 54 years & on the couple of times I've met him he seems a true gentleman, Happy Birthday to " The Don"

If my memory serves me right . Signed from Middlesborough along with Bob Worthington for around £2.5K . Even allowing for Macca from Gateshead, it must have been the best bit of business Notts ever did.

Happy birthday Don, still the best player to have graced Meadow Lane in a Notts shirt .

It was a privilege just to watch him slide a 20 yard ball into space for a runner. Never had anyone since that could touch him (Draper tried but just lacked that bit of vision that Don had).
