    Eddie Howes comments

"We could have signed players but none of them would have improved us"

It's called squad depth Eddie... we need to hope and pray that our injuries aren't like last season.. if anything happens to Schar and Burn who are we replying on?

You can't tell me there were no options at RW that would have been an improvement on Miggy and Murphy?..

I'm not sure who the blame lies with here but if we aren't in top 6 by Xmas I honestly believe Eddie os gone..

It's been amateur hour at Newcastle this summer.. 2 sihte GKs and a free from Bournmouth.. it feels worse than the Vernon Anita window under Ashley

Before anyone says 'it's done now, no point complaining, we've got to support the team', etc, whilst it is over and we do need to support the team, this sort of thread is part of the process of dealing with it. We need a way of venting our frustration.

So, yes, I agree, Tut. Much as we all know PSR has us by the balls (which is what it was designed for), it's not a great stretch to say there must be other players who were available who could improve the first team.

In terms of the Anita summer, in a way it's worse as he was bought for the first team. To think that we haven't added to the first team over two windows is, imo, a huge blow to our hopes of progressing.

We had two glaring deficiences at RW and CB which needed addressing and we failed to do so (despite trying, we still failed).

Disappointed, confused and disillusioned at the moment.

Won't last forever but even knowing the context doesn't alter the reality of where the team actually is at the moment.

I'll bet by the next window they have it sorted in the first few days. If they haven't learned from this window and they don't sort quickly then there is something seriously out of order.

The difference between now and under Ashley. Ashley never said the ambition for the club is to be the number one club in the world.

I don't think they will, unless we are around 12th - 15th in the table. I think we should of just brought inthe players needed like Chelsea. Taken the point deduction. Then it would be easier to sell players to make money

Other than keeping our best players, there's nothing.

However, we shouldn't let it make us view the current team more negatively than we otherwise would. We've got some fantastic players and a brilliant manager who are all capable of doing very good things this season.

We shouldn’t be viewing the team negatively at all, it’s not their doing, they will be feeling just as frustrated as us,they WANT to improve the squad for them to realise their ambitions and if we don’t, haven’t, they will move to clubs that do,then we have to start all over again ffs! Madness! We should have built this window, the reason we haven’t is inexcusable, and those in charge of recruitment have some serious questions to answer from us the fans. I pray that it doesn’t turn toxic on Sunday for the players sakes, this is none of their doing, Darren Eales, the circus clown of a CEO, should be ****ting himself right now!

Patience is the order of the day for me until January and to see where we are from that perspective.
