    Chelsea

What's up with Chelsea giving out 9 year contracts, First Palmer now Jackson who signed last year, extended his to 9 years. Is it some financial work around

They can only amortise up to 5 years, since they are in Europe.
If they give 9 year contracts that’s separate and means players are theirs for 9 years and they are on the hook to pay them wages for 9 years.

F**king madness, and could really bite them if they aren’t successful in the next few years and no one comes in for their player

I think it will come to bite them.

Particularly if they get done for that hotel thing - which I know prem aren't but UEFA or European comps are looking at.

I doubt its only that. They might have found some loophole in PSR rules or whatever.

I dont know how they still do it. When you use maximum amortization, you kinda borrow from future you, and that should limit your buying power if you dont succeed..

I'd like to see them have a couple of bad seasons on the trot and see then what they think of the long contracts when they want off load a few players who are happily sitting on big bucks.

According to rumours I've been seeing appearing a lot on twitter - apperently and I stress apperently - Boehly believes he can just cancel contracts like they do in NFL.

Prepared to go to court to challenge this if he's held accountable.

I have no idea if true but I can imagine him believing that, also, with all the loopholes they've used I wouldn't put it past him to have some lee-way of doing sumit.

Well didn't he think Chelsea were automatically in the Champions League every season?

    Yes, yes he did.

I thought that was a joke but no, he really did think that Chelsea were automatically in the Champions League.

I’ve no idea how they’re managing all theirs players and their books, but when I heard their manager say he’s only working with 22 players, that’s smart and will pay dividends come the end of the season.

Tgus us what the US owners want to achieve.

The Super League / Fraud 6 controlling the Prem from above, dictating who will join them out of the European leagues - the 4 promotions and relegations from the Super League whilst those crooks have zero jeopardy and cream the cash off add revenues, TV rights and buy up all the best players from what would essentially become 'feeder - minor leagues'.

The really dangerous owners are the US owners, not the gulf states!
