    David McGoldrick

I thought Didzy was excellent today. His first goal just underlines his quality and his all round play was terrific.

I think he deserves a massive shout out for the attitude he’s shown during the start of the season.

He’s probably been aware that he wasn’t Maynard’s first choice to lead the line during pre-season but from the outside looking in, it seems he’s simply got his head down, got on with it and waited for his chance. His chance has probably come earlier than expected, but he’s taken it superbly.

I think the attitude point is probably backed up by the way he’s been mobbed after each goal in the last two games; he’s obviously a popular figure.

And let’s face it, he could’ve gone off in a right strop today, sniffing a hat-trick. Nothing of the sort.

A few on here have made a point of his age, but if we can manage his minutes properly, he’ll be a genuine asset this season.

He’s one of our own ❤️

To all the fans that could see he was being played out of position because ML had to be catered for.

I have nothing but good things to say about Didzy. He still has quality and is able to offer the team something both on and off the pitch and is a consummate professional and role model for players like George Abbot and other youngsters in the team. The cherry on the cake being one of our own as well like you say. All players that play for this club should aspire to follow Didzy's example.

Was absolutely delighted when he was subbed off as he had given everything in his time on the pitch and at his age we can't take chances with him getting an injury, it looks like Scott could be out once again and with Jatta still on the sidelines Didzy is so important...wrap that man in cotton wool until next week 😀

I’ve never understood this “his legs have gone” comment once a player reaches 32. McGoldrick still has the quality and desire to be a huge asset at this level, and I was disappointed when Scott was preferred to him in the starting eleven early season. Maybe it gave him a point to prove, if so he’s proved it pretty emphatically in the last two games!

Now he has more freedom in the middle as Langstaff has left he's far better. Outstanding today.
