    West Brom v Swansea

    WBA v Swansea Sat 31 Aug 3pm
After the shambles of Wednesday evening we move on to our league fixtures.
It’s the Baggies of West Bromwich Albion on Saturday and a chance for the players/management to sort themselves out and show some determination to win and erase from fan’s memories that embarrassing performance against Wycombe Reserves (they had injuries and made 8 changes!).
West Brom are unbeaten and sit 4th in the table after two wins and a draw. A tough place to go and get anything but our loyal away fans will be hoping to see a reaction and bounce back from the players.

It was an embarrassing performance against an injury weakened League One team.
They had no idea how to break them down, we could have played all night and not scored.
How do you sort that out in time for West Brom, over to you coaching team.

Still recovering after watching that excuse for a football team v Wycombe.
No idea how to score, only pass out to the wings to pass back and recycle.
So slow by the time the ball was eventually crossed into the box our forwards were outnumbered.
Rubbish football and poor tactics by Williams.
Let’s see what sort of response we see v WBA today.

    FT: WBA 1 - Swansea 0 (Molumby 46’)
One goal doesn’t tell the story, could have been a lot more.
Baggies far superior in every way. We have stood still since last season. The stupid sideways and back passing until we lose it is still prevalent.
A short spell of dominance second half where we lacked the skill to score, then it was West Brom at a stroll, Vigouroux saving us time and again.
We’ll have to do a lot better than this if we are to stay up this season. New signings offered no improvement.
    Pretty depressing really.

Regarding LW’s reaction, his job is to be optimistic I suppose, but I didn’t see much to be optimistic about in this match.
We lost possession too easily and spent most of the match passing it back.
When we did have rare chances they were poorly executed.
We could have scraped an unlikely draw with a definite penalty against their goalkeeper, a diving tackle on Eom, not given of course, unbelievable reffing from the blinkered one.
