A22 to launch Real Madrid's Super League Sept 25

    https://as.com/futbol/internacional/..._rsoc=CM_ES_FB

So the Real Madrid backed company A22, the CEO Bernd Reichart announces Super League will be launched Start of 25/26 season.

Laws need to be brought in to prohibit English clubs from leaving the English football pyramid on heritage grounds.

Without the Premier League teams the whole project is doomed. No one cares about the European teams if Prem teams aren't involved it will last about 10 mins.

I Thought UEFA promised to ban all clubs who continued to pursue super league 2 yrs ago?

Didn't Real Madrid win the UCL last season?

What a joke! No punishment for those intent on dismantling football heritage to suck up a bigger share of the money.

It stinks worse than the bins round the back of the local curry house after a busy Friday night!

Fk em. Let them go. I won't be watching it and I am oretty sure the majority of world football fans wont either. They have an over inflated view of their own importance and if no-one watches the league barring their own fans it will die on its rse.

I actually agree with this. I'd love for the Super League teams (English teams included) to just Fk off and do it already. I already think the English Championship is a far superior league in terms of competition (not talent). I'd be completely fine not giving my money to yet another service that will try to overcharge for "exclusive access to Super League games".

Joining this league would be a HUGE risk for any PL club. The risk of losing your local support base who will fight tooth and nail against joining the Super League.
I agree with the comments above - let them go. I think the PL would soon become more important than the super league again and the plastics who remain supporting those clubs will soon get tired of 4 games a season agains Real Madrid.
The reality is that clubs like Real and Barcelona need a super league because they’ve f*cked up their finances so much. English clubs don’t. Still can’t help thinking the timing of this announcement is because of the Man City APT case result?

    All valid points lads!

The boycott will be massive across Europe. It will be the end of La Liga, Seria A & Ligue Un. The Bundesliga teams won't be allowed to join due to their 50+1 rule where the fans always have the controlling vote.

    Taking stock.

Spurs (hahahaha how?), Arsenal, Chelsea, ManFilth, Liverpool all go.

The bottom 3 get relegated & the top 3 of the Championship come up as normal + the next 5 teams.

    As it stands:

    Promoted
    Sunderland
    Sheffield United
    Burnley

Drafted in to replace the run aways
    West Brom
    Leeds United
    Watford
    Norwich City
    Blackburn Rovers

The next two just outside the top 8
    Middlesbrough
    Oxford Utd

That's a lot of football heritage right there. Getting Leeds, West Brom & Blackburn Rovers would give those clubs a bit of financial stability which would make them viable top flight clubs once again.

Should the smogs and the Mackems be back in the top flight at the same time, it's great news for the North East Region & it's a nice 12 points for the toon each season hahaha

I suspect if that happened they just wouldn't relegate the bottom 3.

    That's an argument.

My long winded point was more around the fact that there are some really big, well supported clubs with hundreds of years of history and in most cases, like Blackburn, Mackems and Leeds who are also historic title winners.

Norwich, Burnley, Shef Utd are all well supported institutions that should they taste consistent top flight money could well become very competitive teams. Also, success attracts money and people so they'd sell out match days and generate more revenue, potentially making them more competitive.

So, whatever happens I can see any Super League becoming a Harlem Globe Trotters type show. It certainly won't be a sport anymore. No relegations and all the top clubs in Europe playing each other week in week out. Real Madrid could well end up being the worst club in that 'league' and ending up last each season saved from relegation only by the rules that founders can't be flush like the turd they are!

    That would be hilarious.

However, the Super League would end up moving to the USA as a circus Real Madrid would be come Real New York and the the whole thing would have no meaning.

Football, the force of the fans and the heritage of the domestic league systems ensure that football will endure. Regardless of what those corrupt money grabbing leaches try to do to pervert the sport we love.

Absolutely these clubs would no longer have a ‘local’ fanbase. It’s going to pander to those international fans with matches being played across the Americas, Middle and Far East with matches being played at whatever venue is the highest bidder!

But that’s the problem, clubs these days know with a good TV deal, they don’t need fans in seats!

Tickets will be given away for free to fill up otherwise empty stadia, with a media frenzy to build up ‘just another match’ to ensure Pay Per View subscription is high.

There’ll be pre match mud slinging with managers and their entourages holding joint press conferences squaring up to each other to create a false sense of competitiveness… which we all know is just for show as there is no real competition anymore!

It’ll become the WWE of the football world with teams following a script as the sponsors want think of ideas to keep people watching an otherwise pointless sporting event!

    Possibly 😆

Yeah it will become entertainment, Harlem Globe Trotters of football.

Out here in the Gulf the people have gold fish attention spans. The locals turned up to the world cup 2022 matches, took their selfies, tagged their location, if there wasn't a goal in the first 10 mins they got up and left. Headed off to the new coffee shop or shisha cafe that just opened. They don't care about the game and that does impact the atmosphere in the stadium which in turn has an impact on the competitive performance on the pitch.

Most of the world cup matches were flat. Leeds v Shef Utd. Oxford v Blackburn. Sun'lun v Burnley all have better atmospheres regardless of which league they play in.

Empty stadiums around the world will impact the product. The full stadiums and Fanatics committing their lives to supporting their team is the 'special sauce', to use a modern term.
