Commenting on Gary Shaw’s death, Tony Morley was shown in the crowd and this idiot commentator says the following…
“There’s Tony Morley, the man who supplied the cross for Peter Withe to head in to win the European Cup”.
You’d think they’d at least have edited that out.
Actually an insult to the memory of Gary that the supposed journalist commentating couldn’t even research the goal in question that was the pinnacle of his career.

We have said on this board many times that the commentators are very poor, this is true for many sports. Cricket used to have excellent commentators but the standard there has drastically declined and in most sports now there seems to be a necessity for commentators to scream and shout into their microphones, it really is awful. Football, though, does appear to have more than its fair share of numbskulls doing the job.
