First post in the "Crew" thread applies. 34 yr old midfielder who Florists don't want to keep, move along.

If we get 1 more injury we will be struggling, he can also play CB and is 6’2”. If fit and it’s short term, wouldn’t be the worst signings, nobody should ever sign a free agent?

If, if, if. We're thin for sure, but only because our manager is about as likely to give the likes of Crew and other youth players an opportunity as I am to be the next Pope.

We are for certain a fair way through the first part of the season and whereas Crew and others are already versed in how we play (whether you agree with how we play or not), Kouyate isn't and we have critical games coming up that ought not to be treated as training/acclimitisation sessions. Decisions made in a panic are rarely good ones.

Then we shouldn’t be signing anyone in January either with your reckoning.
How do you know Florists didn’t want him.
We have probably the youngest squad in the division and lack leaders/experience. As we see with Joseph, he might be familiar with how we play, is a great prospect but was never the quick answer to our frontline.

Btw: in case you forgot Liverpool signed Gary McAllister on a free at age 35….

Think we got Pablo on a free and Paddy Kisnorbo and in the current squad Sam Byram.

I'd prefer that we didn't sign during the winter window, for sure. We have a very poor record of such signings, but that probably won't stop us again this time round.

As to Florists not wanting Kouyate, ok I'll give you that he left when is contract expired with a club announcement in June. Make of that what you will, he still left without a club to go to.

And so you would suggest, given the acknowledged youthful nature of the squad, that not only do we bring in a player with no previous experience at Leeds at a critical juncture in the season, but we're to expect that he becomes some kind of leader? No pressure there then, in getting any kind of "quick answer", which I have never suggested we should get, in any position (and my comments elsewhere on Joseph apply).

Oh and McAllister, you're comparing him to Kouyate, really?

And for the record, I don't object to free transfers, I object to knee-jerk decisions made because we have a manager who has little or no faith in the product of what is rumoured to be one of the best Academies/youth/U21 team structures in any English division

I doubt he’s as good as Gary Mac, just playing on your suggestion, why would Liverpool want to sign a 35 year old that Coventry didn’t want?
He has experience, African Cup winner 2 years ago… No new signing will have no experience of current team, but maybe he can bring his own experiences to the club…he has PL experience…
You really can’t make up your mind… a few weeks ago you were banging on we sign Dele Alli, also a player with no Leeds experience and mental health problems to boot and serious lack of first team football, out since February 23… but hey, you’re always right..

I really do wish that you and others would develop at least a modicum of balance regarding my posts. I didn't "bang on about Deli Alli" I prompted a debate as to whether he might be worth a punt. You disagree which is fine by me, but then you choose to include reference to "mental health problems" of which you have no personal experience nor professional competence to commemt on, and you feel it necessary to add personal insults to a post that simply asked a question. Ask yourself why.

I'm NOT always right and have acknowledged such, shame you and others are blinded by whatever affliction you suffer from that prevents you from any acknowledgement that you're not so perfect yourself.

How do you know I have no personal experience of mental health problems…on your high horse again… don’t preach to anyone on here about personal insults, read back your own bickering bile. It’s well known Alli has suffered with mental health, the best thing for him is to concentrate on that (which I think he is doing) before any football situation. Again you show lack of knowledge on things you pontificate about on here
