    Bradford City v Newport

Last night I tuned into watch this match which I thoroughly enjoyed, I watched it mainly because of the Barnsley links both past and present , Jack Shepherd and Clarke Odour were playing for the Bantams and Nick Townsend for Newport . I thought Townsend and Shepherd had very good games whilst Odour had a quiet match and was substituted but the quality of football was very good and in my opinion was far better than we are currently watching , I wonder if any other contributors on here watched the game and what their opinions were .

Enjoyable watch Shads, it was good to see two teams going for it, fully committed attacking football with lots of balls into the box, the goal from the Newport lad was just like watching Cosgrove
What I want to know is what the hell is Jack Shepherd doing out on loan? He looked very composed and 9 times out of 10 his passes found the man, something none of our squad seem able to achieve.

To be fair Doggy, Shepherd last season struggled and was way off division one standards and the loan this season is exactly what he needed , with the drop in class the confidence and performances has improved in the lad , usually it is us who bring in loans and help the player develop , this time it is the other way round and hopefully he will continue to improve , he is under a decent contract at Oakwell so there is plenty of time for him , also it was one game so it is hard to judge but I did enjoy the game , one thing though that stood out was the amount of time and space players got , I assume that this was down to the size of the pitch and the lower class of the league but I enjoyed it.

I didn't see the game but it's interesting to hear what you say about Shepherd Shads. I posted a couple of times last season about his performances at Cheltenham. I didn't see him play at Cheltenham but his stats were good in that he scored and assisted a number of times and kept a number of clean sheets, in a team that were struggling at the bottom of division 3. Stats don't always show the actual situation I know, but in Shepherd's case they did suggest that he was doing well at Cheltenham.

Not sure he did that well Arba, he only had 8 starts and 4 more as a sub for Cheltenham last season,so he only appeared 12 times in total and he scored 1 goal , towards the end of the season he struggled to get much game time at all , but this year in division 2 he seems to be doing a lot better .
