    Queens v Kelty

Well can we go nap hand and win all five home league games of the first quarter ? No reason why not in my opinion, and can not wait for the games to come along although Kelty have always been a hard nut for us to crack.

    Lets see !

Hope to be back at Palmerstone on Saturday, been nearly 2 years since been at a game.
I was sickened with what was happening at the club on and off the field but I
like what I am hearing and reading at the moment.
    Time to return.

Please look at the ICT situation folks, we need to get real and keep senior football in Dumfries by showing our support.

Well that was unexpected especially after the opening 20 minutes when Queens were as good as I have seen them in years and Keogh couldn't get a look in then everything changed. Murphy's post match interview sums all this up in a rational and calm way as ever. Perhaps we were arrogant today but lessons need to be learned before our next game but until this match we had not conceded more than one goal a game so our defence has generally been solid. Murphy states that he learns more about player through defeats so the teams reaction to this thumping will be interesting to watch. Still in equal second spot so a vast improvement on last season with three quarters to go. Mon the South 👏👏

It is clear from the league table that any team who can sustain a decent run will probably end up champions. End of the first quarter and we are second equal only one point off the leaders which is a position many would have taken at the start of the season. Kelty having 6 shots and 5 goals (albeit one was a penalty) is a statistic we should be striving for. Unfortunately such a heavy home defeat will not attract the floating punters the club needs. Thought Murphy's post match interview was very honest.

A very surprising game after a bright start. The problem with the start was we never really hurt Kelty. Not crossing enough not shooting enough. We probably were over confident and hit the buffers with some poor defending killing the game by half time.
The defence were poor but the forward players can't keep coughing up possession. Time and again momentum stalls with forwards losing the ball. I thought McIntosh contributed last week without scoring but yesterday was barely involved. We are not going to win games with 2 or 3 players hardly touching the ball. I don't think this will be news to the coaching staff.
Our poor play aside Kelty were very good. Noticeable they have a few older heads in O'ware, Mercer and Johnston but every player contributed for them. Tidser plays the middle of the park so we'll and bases his team so we'll and knows every trick going.
We have to have confidence in Murphy and the players to react next week.

I agree. ......it was a complete shock after playing so well for 20 minutes.

I must add though that I would have seen changes at 0-2, especially with our best defender on the bench. Going in at 3-0 down was always an uphill battle.
That being said, Kelty were clinical in front of goal and as many have already said, Queens need to be too.

McKechnie had his quitest game this season and perhaps his lack of drive contributed?

Disappointing that an extra 200 turned up to watch what was a complete mauling, but then, one look at the table suggests that the league is open to anyone who can string 2 or 3 victories together.
It was a bad day at the office. ...... but we must move forward.

Saturday was a major disappointment but I think that was a freak result. It’s now up to us to bounce back in 2 weeks time away to Cove. Hopefully Dickenson & striker Bryden will be fit by then….
