    Tranmere

MickeyD is expected to be fit. Long is "getting there" (but where is "there"?).
Tranmere are surprisingly low down the table considering they had such a good August. They had 2 successive 3-0 defeats in September and then a few draws. So possibly another tight and, perhaps, underwhelming, experience awaits us on Saturday. I hope with a strong leader at the back we won't be indulging in the 'creating defensive pressure from a promising attacking position' as happened at least a couple of times in the first half against Fleetwood.
In 'normal' life, I'm not the least bit superstitious but I can't help feeling that, being the Alex, it'll be a home struggle against 'lower' opposition much harder than away games at Fleetwood and Doncaster.
However, I do expect us to win and to have a clean sheet. 1-0 (Bogle).
It would be nice to win 5-3 occasionally though, wouldn't it?

Hmm! Again no responses. Should I give up trying to encourage predictions on here?

A tight game I feel of which I think that we will come out of with a 2-0 win. It should be a decent atmosphere today with our visitors from the Wirral. It sounds like Mickey D will be back but I can't see Long being involved with no time in the U 21s first. I'm not bothered who scores but I am hoping that Bogel might be one of them. I'm really looking forward to the game actually.

Bogle had no U21 time and has appeared twice so far after that.

A professional display. Not spectacular but effective. Easy enough after the ref gave Tranmere a goal start.
I think the midfield has to be sorted out. We have so many available but little to distinguish many of them. Tidy but unspectacular. I'll be interested to see what happens when Powell becomes available.
Tabiner was a strange one today. He played well enough but I wish he wouldn't turn on the ball so often. However, he had 5 shots today - not sure he'd had more than one the rest of the season. Another slight difficulty was that he constantly took up a position which cut Conway out of receiving position. Yet, he also got into a position to receive from Bogle and put it away.
Wasn't that goal bizarre? I thought time had stood still or that the referee had blown and I hadn't heard it. Bogle seemed to have an age to gather the ball and pick Tabs out.
So a Saturday free of the League for a fortnight before coming back in November to face the current top three.

Good win today against ultimately a poor Tranmere side, defensively anyway, after the ref made them look good at the start. Agree about Tabs, and that the return of Powell may be really significant. Good if he could play against Vale - the ground will be heaving for that one! (But in plugging we could go second if we win our game in hand R Stoke don't seem aware we play it in February!) Tracey's goals - showed how much better he does without time to think I think.

Being at the match and seeing the highlights Cooney but the ref made up for it by not giving a similar foul by Bogle before he crossed for Tabs

Couldn't agree more with that final sentence. Think it was underlined when he beat the goalkeeper to the ball on the edge of the penalty area. The longer the scene went on, the more you knew it would finish disappointingly.
I've long been a vocal critic of Shilow but if he continues in this vein he'll soon become much more of a 'finisher' rather than a 'creator'.
Just another adding to the decisions to be made if Long ever comes back.

Yes Bogle definitely pushed their player before he crossed for Tabs...I kept expecting it to be disallowed...but a case of just deserts I suppose.
Omar Bogle, looks some player if we can keep him fit...fingers crossed.
