    NUFC vs Arsenal

Funny the things you agree to when you haven't got a season ticket. I'll be sat by the white pyramid in Holy Island eating me sarnies when we kick off.

Not being able to watch or listen might be a good thing...I dunno. I tell you what, though, I'd snap your hand off right now if you offered me a point. Games like this won't define our season but it might have a bigger impact on theirs (sad that those two things are the case but it is what it is). They're still posting stuff about last season's game so taking anything off them today would be even funnier knowing how pissed off it'll make them.

Recently, we've shown signs of our old selves but Arsenal are, clearly, very good indeed, and we'll need to be right at them from the start and not let up to get something.

I hope Eddie starts Tonali as he's been our best midfielder so far, imo. I'm going to leave Mids to comment on whether Longstaff should start or not. 😁

Burn starts and Longstaff Tonali has been rested on the bench, feel sorry for Kelly and Krafth not starting after playing so well on wednesday.

I can understand Burn for the set pieces… imagine Kelly will get on.

Think Tino needs to be showing his PSG form, otherwise Trossard will have his life and get in the inside of him (which Tino had been guilty of quite a bit recently) so would have gone with Krafth.

Tonali must be pissed off… if this carries on then I can see him being the player wanting to go in the summer, possibly January… and no point in saying the club supported him so he should stay if we’re not going to play him… if Gordon is fit enough to start 2 in a row after a groin tweak then it’s bo!!ocks to suggest Tonali isn’t… how long is this “‘not quite fit enough’ gonna go on”?

For me Longstaff is a very defensive option, his sideways/backwards passing is more likely to result in us not getting forward quick with the ball, if we have the usual 4-3-3 formation they could over run the midfield, especially if we are as bad giving the ball away again when we are on the break.

Fingers crossed, hopefully the crowd will carry us over the line… watching on the box today as the wife is away with her sisters and mam, so it’s me and the boys.

I can understand Longstaff being in.
It's going to need a lot of legs in midfield to win this one.
Big Joe on the left and Willock in the middle adds to this and continues their good link up.
So it was a choice between Bruno and Tonali.
Burn has a big job today because Arsenal are excellent at set pieces so I see Howe's reasons..but agree Kelly helps in other ways, as in pace.

Kraft should have kept his place.

Let's see if he's got it right..

John Anderson said the desire and effort has been outstanding. That’ll do for me.

Also said that Eddie’s game plan was spot on.

Gordon played a blinder and what a fantastic goal to win it.

Wasnt expecting that and before kick off I’d take a draw, but 3 pts with tremendous fight spirit from the team.

    Gordon was everywhere today.

    Great team goal as well
