Matchday Thread: Orient v Derby in t Cup 11/1/2025

Just seen this is a 6 o'clock kick off yet it doesn't appear to be being televised.

Why not 15:00 if it's not on telly?

My guess is the rights have been sold to ESPN who want all games to start at a convenient time for US viewers, even if some games aren't broadcast. Just a guess though, based on knowledge of TV rights and US sports viewer habits

Don’t really care about Orient in the circumstances, but if we’re doomed by being away, then Cardiff, QPR, Boro’, Plymouth, Swansea, Portsmouth and Hull are major concerns.

Ah, a bit of light relief when it don't matter if(when!!) we lose. 6pm eh, I think I'll go to 🛌 early 💤 seems a good antidote to DCFC🤕

    Mind you there's always🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺

I've discovered it's on Viaplay in the EU, ESPN+ in the US and also on Sportnet, no idea where they hang out.

Club mentioning that more players are down with the flu which means a shake up in the matchday squad and it will contain 5 Academy players tomorrow.

I should be amazed at the number of posts on FB indicating that the poster doesn't believe there's flu in the squad and it's all just a ruse to be able to rest players and put out a weakened team. Disconcerting that this level of stupidity doesn't surprise...

Beginning to remind me of Chorley away four years ago when we were struck down by Covid. Only Tommo remains from that day I think but expecting a similar outcome if we’re that short and bearing in mind that Orient aren’t that far below us.
The league and the window are more important anyway.

A cup run might just be lucrative for us. I wonder what the financial difference is between an extra cup game, and finishing 1 place higher.

I think, we get 25K if we go out at this stage, 115K next round exit. Add in a few bob for the international broadcasting of this game.

The Cup isn't lucrative unless you go far and/or draw a top 6 PL club at theirs...
