    The slippery slope

Down to 9th and only 6 away from when we finished 14 last season.

It's only the slippery slope until you stop slipping ! That's the beauty of football isn't it ? We don't know. How dull to support a team who always win. In France we have PSV and it's a joy when they slip up. Our day will come and all the better for having agonised over dropping points at some windswept non-league ground.

I thought PSV was a witty reference to Paris Saint Vermin.

We might be on a slippery slope, but slippery slopes can go up as well as down.

They just do it a bit quicker than unslippery slopes.

I think we started the day 4 points off automatic promotion and we finish it 5 points off but now with a game in hand on those in 2nd and 3rd.

Yeah looking at the table is no fun right now, game in hand or not. Playoffs are starting to feel dicey now.

Only a game in hand on 4 of the 8 teams above us though. 5 points from the last 5 games and 3 wins in the last 12 isn't really the form to get promotion though.

It all feels worryingly familiar to last season, it was at this point where it became clear things were going wrong. Being 9th in this awful league is NOT sufficient for Notts County Football Club.

It can only happen on Notts Mad.
We don?t play so can?t get any points and yet people are moaning about dropping down the league.
