    Playing a "Low Block".

A new piece of football jargon is emerging from trendy, cutting edge coaches and pundits.

It is "So and so club have come to the game sitting in a low block".

It took me a while to realise all it is is the old fashioned "parking the bus" right in front of the keeper with the opposition defending by barely leaving their penalty area.

Listen out for it. I have a bingo card to record it's use. If you really are at the bleeding edge of the new jargon one pundit has suggested that "the high press can negate the low block". They get paid thousands for this drivel.

I can't do with listening to the pundits SB. If I watch a match on TV, take for instance the Liverpool v Man city coming up this Sunday, I'll do my utmost to avoid the pre match drivel and equally the post match crap that usually involves an argument between the pundits which is then downloaded by SKY onto YouTube.

As Brian Clough once said in an interview with John Motson talking about Match of the Day punditry and over analysing refereeing- "I suggest you shut up and start showing more football"

Couldn't have said it better myself Brian and this interview took place in the 1970s

Spot on Pass. Stuff like the heated "arguments" between Keane and Carragher are s clearly made up and rehearsed.

And it has to be said ladies, PC or not, whilst there are a few good female pundits, the attractive ones, the eye candy, generally spout absolute sh1te.

Yeah that term is one I noticed a couple of years ago and is one that annoys me, for whatever reason.

I think it?s a way for people/pundits to sound more like they know what they?re on about. Just say defending deep or parking the bus.
