    Signings - This season

After the criticism earlier in the season I took for daring to say Montague has yet again saddled us with some poor signings, I thought I'd give my thoughts on this year's crop as they stand.

EXCELLENT Good enough for league 1 and above

    Abbott ( Oh he isn't ours ! )

    GOOD - League 1 building -

Bass, Bedeau , Platt , Jatta, Ness

    OK - League 2 Squad only -

Tsaroulla, Johnson ( not ours )

BACK UP LEAGUE 2 - Nothing more

    Gordon, Grant, Hinchy, McDonald

POOR - Should never have been signed ! -

    Brown, Martin, Cundy, Edwards

UNDECIDED YET - But certainly not convinced -

    Traore, Jarvis, Whitaker

So 18 players signed - Only 6 good enough for League 1 ( 1 not even ours )

Upto 12 Not good enough beyond league 2

    Not a great ratio.

Those who called me a " Bed wetter " and other derogatory comments, please feel free to argue the case differently now.

Johnson is ****e glad he isn?t ours.
Gordon league 2 squad only? Last 2 clubs he?s played for he?s won promotion from league 2 and been a regular starter. SM is playing him wrong tactically, against Colchester SM was having a go at him first half for wanting to run at players and he *******ed Gordon and told him to come back and build the play this happened in front of us in the Pavis.

I?ve seen better players at Arnold Town than Jarvis and Whitaker.

    They are worse than ****.

I'd agree with this. Jarvis and Whitaker appear to have been signed on the recommendation of the coach who left, so I'm not sure Montague had much to do with them. Traore was obviously a January radar signing...not sure about the others. If we are still signing players Maynard wanted at Wealdstone, then there is a problem.

They should be getting opportunities from the bench rather than being pitched into a promotion battle, because they’re clearly nowhere near ready. None of the January signings are improving us right now, even though that’s what we needed - especially after opting to sell one of our top performers at the same time. It was not the transfer window of a club saying “We’re going to do everything in our power to strengthen the side in order to go up this year.”

I don't think Ness justifies being in the 'Good' category, he was another who wasn't worth the gamble on his injury record based on the risk-reward ratio. This is a man whose youth career was for the Metropolitan police.

Overall, looking at that list, you have to think, God help Swansea.

Interesting list, and I can't disagree with with any of your assessments.

Not disputing the player assessments, although I think Bass is L1.

I?m confused by the maths though.

    I make it 19 signings.

And ?up to? 11 not good enough for a league above where we are playing. Including 2 who aren?t even with the club for any hypothetical promotion.

Did I get that wrong? As it doesn?t look all that bad to be honest.

Or you could look at it this way?.

16 signed who are currently at the club.

2 who should never have been signed, and 3 where the jury is still out.

Meaning up to 5 who are not good enough for the level we are at.

When You sell your best players and replace them with cheap options, Then dont expect results to be the same.. This is what we are now reaping.. We dont appear to have any backroom staff/coaches other than some so called medical people telling us players are not fit to play...

Seems to me we're being a bit harsh on Whitaker who was not in the game at all yesterday but has shown he can affect games through goals or assists.

We're never going to give good marks to transfer policy when we've got loads of players out injured and just got completely outplayed. In general though I can't remember a time when our players were in such demand from other clubs since the Munto era, which was paid for with fake money, or before that the Warnock era, so it's not like we need to rip everything up and start again.
