    Favourite Football Cliches?

Transfer Deadline Day always sees an increase in the collective use of classic football cliches; not long until the Transfer Window slams shut.

What are everyones favourite football cliches/terminologies?

I really like the use of ?in and around? for various football things purely because you very rarely hear it in every day speak about stuff other than football.

My pet peeve is the use of ?kit clash? - it should be ?kit blend? - you want the kits to clash, thats the point.

'' He's put a full shift in " as he's hooked after 60 minutes. Insulting to anyone with a proper job.

A "free hit" for a game that's considered unimportant (or especially, between two sides with fastly different form) but nice-to-win. No it's no. Everything has its price.
