    Killie (H) 7th Dec

Every game is important in this league but these are actually the really important ones. Not the derbies or the Sheep or Septic but your home matches against yer St J’s, St Midden, Coonty and of course Saturday’s foes. It’s these matches that really dictate if you finish in a comfortable spot or you’re fighting the drop. We’ve done well so far (bar the Well blip) and Saturday is no different. IF we win, then I really will start to feel that we can forget about avoiding the drop and start to re-focus on a new target - top 6. This will not be easy, it’s a Delboy team after all. And particularly after their midweek thrashing and with Delboy’s tactical acumen of sizing up the opposition I expect them to sit in and play for the break. I’ve no doubt he’s seen that that is exactly what we have by and large been doing and I suspect he’ll be trying to draw us in a bit. What I do not expect in the slightest is for them to come out all guns blazing with their current defensive issues.

I anticipate another close contest and frankly, likely not a great spectacle. But if we can keep a clean sheet, thenI have confidence we’ll be able to knick one and grab the points.

Team line up - leave that to JG, he’s paid the big bucks after all.

Score prediction - 1-0 to the good guys (hopefully).

I can see Kilmarnock playing for a draw. Their form is really poor - something like one win, one draw and four defeats in their last six. This has seen them slide down to tenth with that thumping they took at Ibrox. I think the primary objective for them will be don't lose and, like James in the opening post, I think they set up to thwart us. It would be interesting to see how they react if we get a goal though, that being the case. On the other hand, if they manage to score first I imagine they'll park the bus.

4th game of the season for me and hope for the same as the 3rd v County!

Agree with what James says about the important games, and trying not to get too far ahead of my self, but a good run from now, through the festive period and avoiding a slump will do us wonders!

Agree with all of this. I would hope with the extra days rest we?ve had there is a bit of energy about the team.

I think McInnes has always coveted the rangers job and this has added to the wobble at Killie whilst Clement is under pressure

On a proper pitch, at home, it should be our game, however the weather could be a factor in making it a physical bruising match

I?m also thinking if it does go our way tomorrow some vocal support for JG would be merited

And after last weeks decisions I?m expecting no favours from the officials

The first goal is going to be important. If Killie get it, then I see them shutting up shop and time wasting for the rest of the game. If we get it. then I think we will sit organised knowing that they are going to have to try and go for an equaliser and open up a bit. I can see this one being a pretty dull game, in pretty poor weather conditions...but a win against this team would be an other potential 6 pointer in our survival/ top 6 hopes!

We keep focused just on the next game and here it is. Agree with everything said above.
I really hate the way they play, they just lump it into the box from anywhere 30 yards away. Horrible to watch.
I'd like to see us being very aggressive right from the start and get right on top of them. We don't seem to start fast, not sure if that's an instruction.
About 9 of the lineup picks itself at the moment so there won't be big changes. Maybe put Moult in beside Dalby from the start instead of waiting till the 70th minute 😎
Look to get our width from Ferry and Strain.
Either way it's a big chance to get 6 points out of 6 from these 2 home games.

    C'mon United 🧡

Also, despite our points cushion this is a strange league that can change quickly. There isn't one club rooted to the bottom that you look at and say they're certain for the drop. All the clubs in the bottom 6 have the potential to finish 7th at least. So it's very important we kick on with solid away performances and 3 points in home games.

The players have a great attitude but this is a really tough one, in one respect you can't ask for a better circumstance, then being pumped and having a tough midweek game before coming to a difficult venue, I reckon we can really hurt them if we get it right

However it also depends, it's McInnes team so he'll be looking for a reaction, they've been missing Kennedy the last two games, he'll make a difference if back tomorrow

GMS will be dangerous too if playing, they still have a big squad, plenty options like vassell,Watkins, young guys like Wales and Watson will have ability

We need to be 100% concentrated and don't lose the first goal, we've done well that way, only being behind at half time twice (County away, Sevco home) , level at half time suits me fine with this team

Other factors could be referee decisions, the over the top big deal made out of the Walton challenge in particular by pundits etc since last week may see this very evened up somehow

If we get a win from this will put us in a fantastic situation to handle any wee blip we have, however a loss would probably feel like the most disappointing of the season to date

Were we not 1-0 up away to Country until their very late equaliser?
