    Plan B ... your tuppenceworth ....

Ah think the sane amongst us understand Jimmy needs more time, and solid support from the board in the upcomin' transfer window and beyond, and also understand the limits of expectation re. said window, but it seems we need a plan B ... or C ... or ....

Ah think we can prob all acknowledge our game plan (plan A) has been studied and sussed (as generally happens with all teams about this stage of a season), and in our case, successfully so.

    So what's our plan B? C? ....

Ah'll start by makin' a possibly ridiculous suggestion.

Play Sokler as a 'number 10' wi' Besuijen on the left and Morris on the right of attackin' mid .... and Duk as the striker.
McKenzie is our best winger ... and can usually get back quick enough tae dae his job ... ie defender. Play Jack Milne more ... cos he challenges well, and is shapin' up tae be a plaaaar.

Centre backs??? pfff Ah'll pass on that one

Defensive mids? hmmm ... Shinnie always gives 100% ... but Ah'd go wi' Palaversa and Polvara.

    .... and if it's nae workin? ... there's always plan A

You do realise that Vinny is out long term right? Pape might be a better choice as he should be back soon.

For me, Plan B involves a busy January.

For me Plan B also involves a very busy January transfer window as well as never ever playing Peter fkn Ambrose as our first pick striker ever again

Plan B might be as simple as changing our tactics from this 4-2-3-1, he doggedly sticks with.

Sometimes doing simple things can win games. We seem to have forgotten that on the pitch recently.

Ditching Jack MacKenzie has to be a reality. A terrible defender who hides from his duties in the left back roll and he is at fault for goals conceded very regularly when he plays.
I understand he is a young lad but this is a results business so we should certainly be investing in a left back in January or at least getting one on loan until we fix this problem area in the summer window.
Our central defenders are looking weaker as the season goes on and again a new one would be best as well as shipping out one of the current lot.
We shouldn?t be starting matches with Shinnie and Neilson if we are trying to be a strong attacking team as they are best playing deeper on the pitch.
A real number 10 is a must?McGrath isn?t one and Clarkson is far too inconsistent.
One up top isn?t going particularly well and Ambrose is nowhere near the level to be at our club. Sokler is just rank and Nesbit is spent. We definitely need a goalscorer getting signed. Pape Gueye is a massive loss in this team after his start to the season. He looks miles better than anyone else as a goal threat currently in our squad.
Keskinen is extremely weak and such a wimp. He lacks strong aggressive creativity you need from a winger and i would be loaning him out in January if we can somehow get another winger in.
It?s a lot of signings but it?s my opinion of our current standing this far into the season.
You either build up for success or you accept what you have.
Jimmy Thelin and Dave Cormack should be put under pressure. Our performance levels have declined significantly. We have to do emergency work on our squad extremely quickly.

I reckon you've been itching to write that for a while.

I'm not expecting too much movement in January and at our level we have no guarantee that any signings will immediately improve us.

Best we can hope for in January is a half decent centre half and hopefully a Hoilet style signing to add a bit of quality in the final third, to take the pressure off the defence.

I still reckon we have a decent enough squad for the league, but it is imbalanced.

Players being hung out to dry due to tactical failings more than anything in my own opinion.

I can?t see us sending out Keskinen out on loan considering we spent ?800k on him in the summer.

I think he?s been hot and cold since he signed but you can see he has the potential to be a good player for us.

As for players being hung out to dry due to tactical failings I would say there?s a fair few players that have been here as far back as the Darvel loss.

There?s been 4 managers in that time who for one reason or another have been given given poor performances like Darvel and Kilmarnock on Thursday by these players.

Maybe they just aren?t good enough and we should be looking for better.

Agree with first 4 lines, not sure about last.

Like you think imbalance is major issue, not majority actual players themselves.

I’d say Plan B is a sports psychologist.

Baffled by where our press and tempo has gone, assumed it was due to us not being fit enough to keep it up but seems its more than that.
I also get we’ve been ‘sussed out’ as it were and teams are harrying Nilsen now and whilst he was dominating play for a spell he’s also a bit slow.
But this collapse is ridiculous. Are our players really that fragile?

Lose momentum and belief and they retreat into themselves? I can accept getting out played but we’re being outfought.

Agree on changing formation with the 2 wide players and full backs currently pushing up and the midfield 2 not providing defensive cover making us easy to break through or bypass
Yesterday was about being solid for first 20-30 minutes as we have generally been ****e for first half of many games
4-4-1-1 with the middle two midfielders actually working hard in front of the defence and the wingers creating two banks of 4 - get a foothold and get some possession of the ball and build from there- not just reverting to try to knock the ball behind the back line for out fast players to to try to get on to

There is a definite stubborn streak that appears even the players have given up on
