At our best, are we better than Liverpool

Just going on direct equivalent results, in the last few weeks we over ran Manure at the Salford Swamp, a couple of weeks later the same Manure almost got a win at Anfield where they were ahead for the majority of the game.

Then last week, we dominated and demolished Spuds at their place whereas yesterday Liverpool were contained and beaten by Spuds.

Just something to muse about, but I'm looking forward to our return game against Liverpool at their place end of next month or perhaps beating them in the Carabao cup final, that is assuming we sort Arse-anal out on the return game and Liverpool can do a reverse on Spuds.

Our best vs average liverpool? Could be.

Question is - in two months time will we still be at our best?
I definitely not looking forward to them away, neither in the cup (IF we can hold on our lead against gooners)

All I can say is I am hoping for a massive upset at Anfield next month with Spurs.

Our best v their best? I don?t think we can say we are better at all.

    I?d prefer our midfield
I?d prefer Salah from their frontline
    I?d prefer Allison
CB?s is difficult to really call

They?ve got more depth and options is what I would say, even though we cancelled each other out recently that was at SJP.

Comparing who did what to other teams is pointless and means nothing (in my opinion).

If we face Liverpool in the final, which is the most likely outcome I reckon, then we go with confidence but I?d not say we are better? they?ve had a little blip? but that?s a derby result basically and a cup game? they?ll be back sooner than later.

Better is a very subjective word. We are capable of beating them if we play very well. Thatll do for me for now as they are generally the strongest side in the country.

Yet they almost lost to Manure at home, who we easily contained and thumped and they deservedly lost to Spuds who we also gave a beating to.

At the moment we are 11 points behind them and they have a game in hand v Everton.

I'd like to reassess the situation twice. First after the Carabao Cup Final, and secondly at the end of the season.

Aye but football doesnt work like that. We beat team A and team A beats team B doesnt necessarily mean well beat team B too, especially in a league like this one and even more so in a season like this.

Their best against our best beats us by a couple of goals, imo.

You can?t point to other games like that.
Just as easy to say? we got beat at home 2-0 by West Ham and Liverpool beat West Ham away 5-0? so Liverpool are 7-0 better than us 🤦*♂️

They are better than us, best to best.

However, I think that the potential for a cup would mean more to us, and that would drive us forward.
