5 out and Evans wants or told only 3 to come in

Let's look at some of the facts. I'm only playing devils advocate here but hear me out.

So 5 have left and wages wise would it be fair to say it's around 20k on wages saved so far? Could be more, I may be being generous to the club.

Now from the supposed 20k, let's just put 5k to one side, Ill come back to this.

So Evans has 15k a week to bring in only 3 players, that's a lot of wages to play with. Stewart will probably hoping Evans doesn't want to use it all. Again, I'm only guessing he's saved 20k on wages.

Anyway back to the 5k put to one side, what am I going to do with this? It's to be used to wrap up Hugill's contract. Again it's an assumption he's on 10k a week and I don't think I'll be far off that sum. Now it's down to the COO/Stewart/Scott and Karen to work something out with Hugill so as he can find a new club who will take him on where, he retains is supposed 10k a week status, as his new club can have his services for 5k a week and RUFC will make his wage up with the other 5k.

It's all if's and buts and figures apart, this could all work out where our biggest wage earner is finally offloaded and the club save approx 260,000 a year on his wages.

Does this all sound too plausible? Just some thoughts of my own playing with fictitious figures as I don't know the real ones but, all told, it could work out and hopefully new players who better the team are brought in.

Why would you assume any potential new club would pay him 5K a week ? At the moment he is worth about ?250 a week ?

Totally agree, however and like I said, I don't know his true wage so only playing with figures. Think on though, Eaves wasn't on small wages and his contract was sorted out and moved on . Hugill may well have to lower his wage demand but having a new 2 year contract also helps things progress.

Hugill isn't totally poor as he proved himself when he first arrived so there's a player in there somewhere but, he's done himself no favours of late while being here this season, this is what another Manager may see in him.

If we end up with a nett deficit of 2 players (5 out, 3 in) I have an awful feeling we're going to see more of Hugill than most people want.
Evans obviously likes him to some extent or why would he let him wear the captain's armband?

I've no idea whether your wage figures are right but they do seem plausible and don't forget we're supposed to have recouped more than we paid for a couple of the players we've sold so what's going to happen with that money?
    I think I can guess.

What is of concern is that we set off with only 22 players at the start of the season. Now we're another 5 down so now only 17 players and Raggett in the sick bay.

Now look who's not starting for us and regularly benched. Hugill, JCH, Bramall and it suddenly looks very glum indeed. Holmes is rarely used and is now bypassed by MacDonald?

Here's hoping the 'three' we are looking to bring in, raise our game/position and contribute well to the side.

I'd normally be posting In Evo we trust but of late with the state of things at the club..........

The starting 11 are proving they are capable, including McDonald. Though I'm still not convinced the formation is getting the best out of the players. We have the 7th best defence in the league yet only 3 teams have scored less than us. 4 3 3 or 4321 is not getting us the goals it should.
I would like to see a striker who can bully defenders and win the long ball headers and 2 midfielders. One wide player and one attacking player.

Defo need 4 in 2 midfield one who can cover on the right big forward. Centre back SE saying James can play there not for me if Humphreys is deemed not tall enough there to be regular starter James definitely isn't.

Is type then? Gung Ho, gets in where it hurts, great hold up player and.......can score goals. Now who is out there that fits that build and more importantly is in our remit?
