    Midfield

As anyone who's read my recent posts will know I've been critical of the way we've been playing for large parts of games. Even games we've ended up winning. High speculative punts and long throw ins. Maybe I'm getting greedy.
We've definitely looked better football wise when Docherty has been in the side but with the return of Sibbaldi and the arrival of Fiorini there won't be room for everyone even when Docherty is available.

OK its the league results that dictate our position and currently 3rd maybe I'm in a minority on this. But last night was another example where we didn't link play at all through midfield, it was all down to Strain and Ferry on the wings.

Apart from games v the Glasgow sides where we maybe need to be a little more defensive how would you line us up v eg Motherwell St Johnstone Hibs

    Midfield options
    Sibbaldi
    Docherty (when available)
    Stephenson
    Jort (top of diamond)
    Babunski 10
    Svelje
    Fiorini
    Have I missed anyone?

Overall I'm delighted with what we've achieved so far, I just feel with the talent we have available we could be ahead in games by half time if we played more football through the midfield. Again this isn't just because of last night it's mainly because Sibbald is returning and Fiorini has arrived.

Like i said elsewhere, i think most sane arabs are singing off a similar hymn sheet on this.

You have missed 2 from midfield that have been tried in Odada who has disappeared and Holt who should be used as a last of the very last resorts in midfield.

First i would argue about what is the best combination in midfield and that is Doc with maybe Sibbs and Shevy.

Then is part of the problem not that our midfield has been the area that has been the least settled all season, and especially more recently with Doc in n oot so often tied in with having to rotate an already thin squad.

We won the Championship and we're 3rd in the league currently. JG has been learning and improving. This is just about how we can improve further.
You never turn up when we win, you just turn up when we lose. That makes you a loser. Cheerio.
