    Player Ratings..Accrington

We always enjoy these but nobody has given any thus far. So I will start after listening on the radio.....everybody a 7.5 except an 8 for the 3 Defiant Defenders, and 8.5 for Dazlin Didzy and Gorgeous George, and a 9 for Sizzling Stuart.

Thanks Dave for starting the thread. Thought we would see one after such an impressive performance. Here are my scores.

    Bass 7.5
    Bedeau 8.5
    Platt 8
    McDonald 8
    Tsaroulla 6.5
    Palmer 7.5
    Abbott 8
    Austin 7.5
    Grant 6
    McGoldrick 8
    Jatta 7

    Subs

    Jones 6
    Whitaker 6
    Jarvis 6

None really impressed but great just to see them on the pitch.
Hinchy and Edward?s not on long enough to rate.

Bass would get an 8 if he had more to do but he does all the basics so well. It?s very reassuring.

Could have gone 8.5 and 9 on a couple if rated yesterday I probably would have.

Maynard 9 picked the side I would have and due to the scoreline did as many subs as possible. Minutes in the legs. Also spread them out which makes far more sense than all at the same time. Not that it would have mattered on this occasion

Those marks are a little mean to say how well we played.. I would notch them all up an extra point, with the exception of the subs.

Think Jatta was higher than 7

On reflection I think you have a point durhampie.

Can?t move them all up a whole point because as their manger said post match they couldn?t pass the back five yards to one another. Limited and generous opposition this has to be reflected to some degree. Regardless I wish to amend all the starting players by 0.5 and make Maynard 9.5. Can?t give a a max 10 due to the usual slow starts but very impressive from the head coach.

    MOTM still Bedeau

I think the original ratings were almost spot on actually. The first half was really good but for whatever reason, game management, introduction of subs etc, I thought we were a bit sloppy in the second half and Accrington managed to play around us a bit too easy. We saw it against Walsall who took the game to us and got their rewards and it felt similar in the second half but Stanley weren?t good enough to capitalise.

Maybe I?m being a bit harsh but I?d have marked Jones down to a 5 because he looked totally out of sorts, still not ready by the looks of it.

Sam Austin is benefitting from finally getting to play a consistent position rather than being treated as Mr Utility.

Agree with increasing them all and the remarks about Austin. My MOM would have been Palmer.

Jones was very deep when he came on. Plus the movement around him was limited as we looked to keep a solid shape. I think the focus was just on getting the clean sheet again which doesn't give him much scope to impress.

I'd have Abbott and McGoldrick both on stellar 9/10s, with Abbott getting MoM.
After that there's Bedeau - he's seems to be getting better and better! 8/10 at least.
Everyone else a good 7/10. Apart from Grant who gets a respectable 6/10, the average game.
