    Brown and Martin gone

Just confirmed by SM post match. Slightly surprised by Josh Martin but more wages and spots in the squad freed up. Can see 2 or 3 coming in before end of the month.

Martin's unlucky in that he played 80% of his minutes showing that he can't really play wing-back at L2. Hopefully at his next stop he can be given the freedom of playing inside. Maybe Brown was trying harder to prove himself as a team mate than a striker, never seemed ready to grasp the nettle. Thanks and good luck to both of them

Not surprised about Brown, things never really got going for him at Notts. There might be a player there but I?ve not seen it.

Martin at times looked really useful. Maybe the new signings are considered more than enough to replace him.

Shame about Martin as looked decent in last couple of games and didn't really get much of a chance before than. Brown was awful from start to finish. I criticised the signing of Brown for what he had done before and was roundly slated for it. Seems his career is practically over now.

I agree. Martin was excellent at Cheltenham and I am surprised he has been released. Good luck to him.

Wasn't Brown's loan for a full season. Perhaps we have ended it as we have someone coming in who's better.

You're absolutely right, it was a season-long loan. I'd forgotten that!

It was and it had a clause where Rovers could recall him in Jan and we could send him back.

    Smart work by Notts here.

    Football is a horrible business
Josh Martin was far better than at least one of the guys we've just bought in
Hopefully he can sort out another club based on his recent decent performances

One good game, but plenty of subpar ones. I’m guessing he didn’t impress enough in training. If we want promotion and to be competitive in L1, we definitely need better than Martin and Brown.
