    Our failed transfers

Good read though whilst it points out the failings of these type of players, it doesn't consider the other side of the coin. The type of players who were of sim age and unknown who didn't make a big impact

We cannot pull the rabbit out of the hat every time. The key thing you should look at is all the players cited and bought in that article (and a few more adding to success) were under far better times, and team management and recruitment.

We are almost at zero point. (In respect of that article.)

It?s frustrating and slightly depressing. So many other clubs managed to keep going by finding gems and selling them on for a good profit. We just don?t seem to have a grip on this at all. Look at Plymouth?s revival based on the sale of the centre half and forward that?s net lted 8 1/2 million pounds. Whitaker was bought for 1 million and sold for 6+ Gibson bought for far less and sold for 2 1/2 million with add-ons that?s how you do it

Get rid of certain people who are involved in our transfer dealings?. hold that thought. They are here while ever Tony Stewart is in charge so nothing will change.

SE thinks of these managers he's known that they're going to favour us before others. Got to get away from that. For some reason now we've been overtaken by clubs we weren't before in the pecking order for signings with some sell on value. We'll always be a selling club but unlike in recent seasons after this one I can't think of many senior players who'll be under contract that's going to swell the budget much for recruitment.

Good read, about the failures of Rotherham United.

Time after time we hear each season from the owner Tony Stewart, that the club has
learnt from past failure, but yet do the same thing season after season.
It doesn't need a scientist to see the failure, the club needs a CEO who knows each
side of football, the finance & footballing side [ contracts - transfers - valuations ].

Money coming into the club through the commercial side.
50/50 draw - I think the club made a mistake by stopping cash sales on the 50/50
draw, some fans don't use a card at games.
Bar / Refreshment kiosks - Again no cash sales.

May Day sales - Through the bank, direct debit - Don't know how many fans now
    buy the May Day subscription.

When my family sold - Subscription contributions to the Rotherham United Football
Club Association - Office was up at the Crofts, where we took the money in.
Also sold Tote tickets for the club, plus another, which we paid in at Millmoor
My family were the biggest seller for Rotherham United FC.
To which like I have posted before, my father was one of the original people who
set up Rotherham United Supporters club, to which also brought the supporters club
pub in the corner of Millmoor, at the railway end.
I always remember watching my Father walk from the club around the pitch perimeter
to the terrace end or into the stands, around 15 minutes after kick-off, due to sorting
    supporters club work.
R.U.F.C. Away support - My father ran the Millers supporters section at Kilnhurst Working
Mens Club, arranging transport to away games. midweek & weekend games.
The money collected by my family came from our neighbourhood & the pit top at Manvers
Main, where my father worked. [ Later years I joined him there ]

Perks - From doing the collecting for the club, there were perks.
R.U.F.C. Association Crofts - Supplied up to 2 stand seats & 1 terrace ticket for the season,
due to the amount to which we collected for the football club.
Also every year the Association gave my father 2 tickets for the FA Cup final & 2 tickets for
    the home international games.
But we did not use them, instead my father gave them to people who bought tickets off our
family, to which he did a rota list of names.
In 1966 my father was given 2 tickets for the opening World cup game at Hillsborough
between West Germany & Switzerland, & also the quarter final between West Germany &
Uruguay which my Father & I used.
The commercial side of the club brought quite a bit of money into the club.

To bring back harmony to the club, it needs fresh blood, starting with a CEO.

Thanks for posting that, enjoyed reading it and some great observations. Definitely agree about the no cash sales, no issue with the club trying to modernise but making cash obselete has just alienated a core of our support. I know a few people who have stopped playing 50/50 for this reason and the prize pot seems to have halved since they stopped taking cash
