O/T Is Elon Musk more powerful than Trump?

Check out the White House Oval Office meeting with Musk wearing a baseball cap?..total disrespect for the occasion.

Did Trump get in on Musk?s money?

Who really is Elon Musk? Not even an American name.

Born in South Africa with some British ancestry. World's richest man. Super intelligent. 12 kids. US, Canadian and South African citizen.

Not more powerful than the Donald though.

It's all hype with Elon Musk. The way Musk gained his reported wealth and assets is worth researching. Too much info to post on here. However, it would surprise quite a few people.

I agree with Cam. Musk doesn't have the Pied Piper effect that Trump has over the MAGA mob. Musk's only source of power is his money, but that only buys influence, not an unquestioning body of followers.

The next 4 years are going to be interesting in lots of ways. I'm fascinated by the question of how long two super-sized egos will be able to work together.

I'm also wondering what Musk's long game is. If he's hoping to be Trump's successor that could be tricky as I suspect that Trump wants to keep it in the family.

Am I right in saying that the only person that is elected in any administration is the president? The pr?sident proposes his candidates for the roles and then a congress committee questions them first before passing a vote?

Musk can?t be the president of America because he wasn?t born in America.

You raise a good point about keeping it in the Trump family. The Bush family did it, the Kennedy family are very political and let?s not forget the Clinton family. I doubt the Bidon family will bother.
It is similar in France where the big political families get behind a candidate.

Very Tricky. He can't become president. He's not a natural born citizen of the USA.

Yes, that occurred to me after I'd posted, but I'm not sure Trump and those close to him care much for rules.

The thing about laws and even constitutions is that they can be changed, particularly when you have a congress that is cowed by the MAGA mob, a pet Supreme Court bench and a supine population.

There's a rumour that the The Donald is going to try for a 3rd term. The argument goes that the constitution only prohibits more then two consecutive terns.

Partially, yes. The registration giveaways would not sit well in the UK, but between a weak opposition, millions of backwater types in the third world regions of the US, and free speech being an unhinged concept over there, it wasn't just Musk's money.

He's an incredibly bright, autistic, tax avoiding, ethically challenged, seemingly charismatic, South African who likes to play the online and offline troll. A living embodiment of the dangerous knife edge we've allowed by enabling incomprehensible wealth accumulation and the abandonment of responsibility around free speech. Someone who could be a massively positive force for good, but who seems more content being disruptive, notorious, and unpredictable.
