    Current dilemma

We know how good some of these players are because we have seen them in previous seasons.
And to add to that - there are clips of these players at other clubs.
None of our players such as Connell have shown any progress over this last 2 seasons under Collins and DC.
Most of them have gone backwards.
Is that the problem of the players or is it poor organisation and motivation?
IMO the problem isn?t the players.
Ismael showed what can be done with organisation and effort - and with a relatively poor squad compared to other clubs.

So the problem isn?t the players.
The problem stems from the owners employing poor advisors - whether that be Flatman or Sormaz.
Following on from that these advisers have recruited poor HCs and have left huge gaps in the playing squad eg out and out strikers.

The can stops with the owners.
A club is only as good as it?s owners - and IMO we have good owners that are desperate to see the club progress - but they are getting decisions wrong when it comes to employing advisers.
The owners need to up their game.

Has the penny finally dropped YN ? Many of us who contribute on here have been banging the drum for ages about how are owners are out of their depth with running a football club they are, they have gradually over a period of time allowed the quality of the players at the club depreciate , every new coach they employ inherit a weaker squad than their predecessor and the gradual decline continues , watch this space because with out a doubt they will sack Clarke simply to deflect from their incompetence and rinse and repeat , they as a business need to take a good look in the mirror and either restructure or get out of the kitchen , this current operational strategy is failing and if left to continue in the present form then bad times are around the corner .

The club is losing 700k per month with very few saleable assets. I'd suggest hat is the current dilemma

Shads - the owners have to take responsibility for appointing one maybe two poor advisers.
    That?s all.
They along with all other football club owners in the top 4 leagues are NOT individuals that understand the complexities of football.
    That?s why they employ advisers.

As for getting things wrong in the past - over the last 10 years or so (excluding the Conway Season) ALL the HCs have been poached due to their success.
It?s only these last two seasons that they haven?t.

Something changed at the club about 18 months ago - and it might be a coincidence but I don?t think it is - that ties in exactly to the date James Cryne stepped back from the club.
Yer know - that fella who I describe as a genius but many on here laugh at.
Well - it very much looks like we are seeing the club on a downward spiral now he isn?t directly involved in recruiting HCs and players.
Not many Barnsley supporters laughing right now.

So you are basically confirming that they don"t know what they are doing , thankyou we finally agree on something and no I am not laughing , incidentally in the last decade we have had 16 HC"S including 4 in the season 21/22 , most of these were indeed set on under the genius that is James Cryne , speaks volumes for the genius !!! and I am still not laughing .

To be honest Pass, you could say it all started at the start of that year, in the terrible January '17 transfer window. 😧
And as for the current difficult situation we're going through, I'd call it something ten times worse than just a 'dilemma'.

If his dad hadn't owned the club do you think James would have got a job in football off his own back ?

Yes you could say that Acido but the club mattered far too much to Patrick to intentionally take advantage of any potential financial situation- PMG were only in it for that.

The result of that is where we now stand both financially and in the football league standings
