If we did get promoted under him, I feel it'd be because the club has assembled a great squad of players, and if they gel and get on a roll....
I don't feel SM could make the difference in getting a slightly lesser set of players over the hump.

I think we'll have a better idea by the turn of the year. If we've managed to hang on to the coat tails of the leading contenders until then the long term injured should return and the owners might back him in the January market to push on. Fingers crossed that's how things turn out.
Still think we'll be play offs-ish as this League is awful. He'll need some luck to get us through that, it's possible I suppose but I do worry what will happen after this season if we don't go up because that'll mean no Jodi Jones, no Dan Crowley and probably no Jatta as well.
No. The BT stuff is a bit below the belt, but c?mon is there an example anywhere of a bloke coming straight out of part time football into a good EFL club and being a success? Why did he never get a full time football job as a coach or at an academy if he?d any good?
And Warnock doesn?t count, firstly because Maynard is no Neil Warnock and secondly it was the best part of 40 years ago.
After we lost to Crewe last season, SMs fifth game in charge, and I flew out of ML fuming with him and saying he had to go immediately; I actually think he could take us up.
Im not getting into the squad depth argument again, or the injuries argument again.
I think SM is a good coach. Teams dont generally dominate the ball in the vast majority of games due to luck. It is thrown together. That is coached and that comes from a clear thought process. At the minute, we are lacking in the final third and there are various reasons to dive into that could be causing it. Its not perfect, but I would much rather have the tactical base we have to work from.
If you link that with getting DC, JJ back, along with CG, CE and keeping Robertson fit for longer than three weeks at a time alongside the observable notion that we generally do good recruitment then we still have a real chance.
