Life is just one damned thing after another.

Someone said that, who i dont know, but if your a United fan, its that, plus one damed game after another. Thank god for you its another week before another.

If you are aquainted with history like myself , you will be hardened to it indeed, it makes no impact other than entertainment, a mild one.

That when disaster strikes as it has many times before, the flesh becomes hardend, immune. Its only four months and a bit until it starts again, and you will pay for the privelege of holding your head in your hands, trying to stay awake, or staring into the distance.

On an evening game, i have watched an anglian sun go down from the main stand rather than the game.

Or watched the ducks, big ones and little ones to and fro over Barnwell lake. Is there really a steam engine in there?

Maybe the club could build a ski slope on the pitch even during games and have persons slaloming dissapearing into a net over the back of the south stand.

I almost said terraces, oh, they are not there anymore. Maybe put on a play to fill the unforgiving hours. The one where Anthony Wedgewood Benn shoots his gamekeeper would be good.

Or where Kier Starmer orders his maid to do extra duties....or his man servant, or both. It will be needed, Harrogate railway are coming.

The next few games will be like waiting for someone to die, indeed, someone will say, probably the club also, that they will not give up hope while its mathematically possible toescape relegation.

Everyone feels that, its only when its confirmed that anger will boom.

I have no pain, ive moved on from being a supporter, i suppose a case may be made that im still interested rather than being indifferent, the origins of that would be interesting.

Would it be that i still care?, or that i have vested interest in seeing the club suffering in the way i used too, due to united being a nine bob note club, im sure its no 2.

As for you, your suffering must be inconsolable, bottom of div 1 now bottom of div2 i dont think thats ever been done before, i am aware of how badly that hurts.

How are you processing it?, do you still have hope?. Anyway, on a side issue, you being of a left persuasion i would appreciate an opinion.

There was a talk on radio cambs about Godmanshester Rovers, bottom of the united counties league south, its not important that you know who.

The bloke representing them said they hope to develop community services, whatever that may be.

It will cost money, Cambridge United have spent a fortune on it, putting a big tax on the ordinary supporter. Providing social services is a bottomless pit, there is no filling it.

Meanwhile, Cambridge get relegated, over the years many millions have been spent, with management structures, and all sorts of services, even delivered food.

I find this unnaceptable, people pay to watch the next Alan Biley, not subsidise beer, fags, the horses, and loo loo substances. Anyway Godmanchester get attendances of 75 to 120, and are BOTTOM.

The british concept of poverty is amazing, and idiots, like Godmanchester Rovers, take it as rote, that all people need help, when the truth is, standing on your own feet is health.

If its about being the centre of the community, getting people to attend, the idiocy knows no bounds, it does not work, if your not a football fan, guess wghat?, you wont go.

Griff I feel your pain as well, all of the Carlisle supporters that post on the two forums are dreading the prospect of relegation so I keep a close eye on Carlisles scores and hope that they pull themselves out of the shit and survive, having said that the drop is not so bad as you think,Notts spent four seasons down there and the football has improved considerably from what it was ten years ago and I enjoyed visiting new grounds,no doubt there will be new grounds that are nearer to you now that you have moved down south so every cloud has a silver lining

Frank, you should be behind the club that you support, your team should be for life not just when they are doing well or have a decent owner and coach there,it is more important to get behind them in the rough times more than it is during the sh*it ones

Would you stay wedded to a woman betrayed you in every way, of course not, i think that answers your question. There is a board member at United who works for astra zeneca, a janitor or something, astra zeneca dont fund social services, and they have space age buildings, zillions in money, etc.

Do they fund cafes for mental health, deliver food hold bingo sessions.....no.

Or the bloke who owns greyhound busses, or whatever, does Dion Dublin contribute to the trust?, i bet not.

So why tax the ordinary united fan?

On the WHIMS of the owner? Doing good is more important than wining, if it does any good, handouts do not work, it cements dependancy.

What recovery programmes are there?....none, its just hand outs, mindless pap.

Football clubs are under the delusion they are the centre of the community, how laughable is that, they are the centre of football in Cambridge, or one of them.

The city centre is the hub of the community, everyone, at one time or another goes there, it has pubs, restaurants, shops, museums, markets, entertainment whatever.

The ordinary cambridge football fan is abused, robbed, like Barry taking the Newcastle money, the monstous fib that Barry will rebuild the abbey. Charged a fortune to watch Loft, Ndulluuulluuu.

For gods sake. While hard cash gets siphoned on the above.

Barry will walk away flush. Not Mr Fan who sinks a lot of money on tickets, season tickets overpriced food, a 1935 ground, money he can barely afford.

    Not me.

    Shove it.

    Football is a disgrace.
