Trying to cheer myself up.
We're on 61 points. Neither Morecambe nor Carlisle can get above 57.
So, there's that.
Not really chap it's a very even league with no stand out teams. As proven by the results! Lots of fans with excitement at the end of the season is a good thing I suppose. Other than Sky now buggering stuff up. QP.
Yep I find it?s better to be half full all season and then deal with the disappointment for a week or so at the end.
I?ve probably got caught up now in the negatives on here recently but when you sit back, yeah we have some deficiencies but we also have 2 of the best centre forwards in the league which always gives you chance many others don?t have.
We are Notts County!
The first goal should always be to secure a place in the Division as early as possible even more so when you are in league two.
There are 27 points up for grabs so we know the ceiling is 88 points. Realistically it's looking like 78 points will be enough for 3rd place based on current PPG. That means we can afford to drop ten points. Six wins and no more than a draw and two defeats.
We are on course to finish on 78 points based on our current PPG for the season so far and Colchester in 7th are on course to finish on 72 points. However our form in the last 9 has been W3, D2, L4 so 11 points so we would probably just scrape a play-off place if we stay on that track and we need to have a positive end to the season results wise especially if we are to be involved in the playoffs.
The league this season as been extremely competitive and there has been no stand out contenders. Any team who has had one or two five-six game winning runs has been up there, and most teams are capable of beating others on their day.
This is why now it's called the business end of the season and we need to be doing the business. As for our fate it's looking more and more likely it's going to go right down to the last day at home against Doncaster.

Not looking good for Carlisle. If they do get relegated then it will be the first time since 1988 that we'll witness successive tier 4 seasons with a team dropping straight from tier 3 down to tier 5. Newport followed Lincoln's 1987 double dive in 1988, Carlisle would emulate FGR's repeat relegation last season.
Between 1988/89 and 2007/08, nobody did the double drop through tier 4 but we've already had two suffer that fate this decade, Southend did it in 2021.
Numerous teams have done the double promotion in the opposite direction from tier 5 to tier 3, Carlisle among them in 2006.
