    Chopping block

1 game in and the first casualty...Ryan Lowe at Preston given his marching orders.. pretty weird but I see Preston fans going crazy over their lack of signings and was a bit toxic at the end of the game Friday night... Still weird to sack him 1 game into the new season

He wasn't sacked but asked to go according to Peter Ridsdale
Lowe thinks he has taken them as far as he can

If he was refused reinforcements that he knew were needed he was really being set up as the fall guy
Football is a mad business where the manager is always in the firing line even when the blame lies elsewhere

He was not sacked. He walked. He even posted quite a significant message as to why.

Peter Ridsdale has experience of running out of money at Leeds, so maybe he's a much more pragmatic chairman these days, at least in terms of playing budgets. Difficult to explain that to an ambitious manager sometimes though.

Actually Ridsdale has said today that he has brought in 3 players that Lowe asked for and another is due to sign shortly
Maybe Lowe has a different take on it - as so often in football?

Ridiculous after two games and an 8th placed finish last season. He's done a great job there overall, that's why they took him back a second time. They must have delusions of grandeur.
