    Match ratings vs Mk Dons

Very hard to rate because the opposition were so bad but here goes

Slocombe...6.. Had absolutely nothing to do, kicking and handling good though
Bedeau... 7.5... Brilliant player...won everything and made so many bursts forward
Platt... 7.5... Won just about every header in into our box...he is just so good
Macari... 7... quietly effective...linked well on his side...nice to see him back
Jarvis...8... The player I saw over here in the League of Ireland... very nimble feet and scored a belter... delighted for him
Palmer..7.. Kept the midfield ticking along... some nice passing and always made himself available
Abbott...9... MOTM... Wow...one of the best players I have seen to pull on a Notts shirt in my 26 years as a fan... won just about everything in the middle and some lovely passes and touches...simply wonderful player
Tsaroulla...7.5.. Not my favourite player but put in a hell of a shift....deserved his goal
Grant... 7...Quietly went about his business...didn't stand out but kept the MkDons backline busy
Didzy...8... For his goal alone he deserved that mark... just a brilliant player who seems to be getting younger rather than older
Whittaker...7.5.. I actually think he had a very good game...always tried to get involved...not much in the way of scoring chances but played very well
    Subs
I will basically group them all together with a 6.5 but Edwards gets a 7 for that cruncher on Crowley!
Maynard.. 10.. Got the tactics correct...high press second half destroyed any confidence MkDons were building...Subs at exactly the right time also to totally kill the game...Happy for the man

Slocombe - 7 - Had pretty much nothing to do. Two wayward passes early on.

Macari - 7 - Solid as ever, got forward well, especially first half.

Platt - 7 - Never looked troubled, an easy night at the office.

Bedeau - 7 - Strong all round again, a quality footballer.

Tsaroulla - 7 - Delighted he scored. Fully committed and a bit of quality to boot.

Palmer - 6.5 - Pressed brilliantly but was slack with the ball.

Abbott - 7.5 - Again, great in the press, brilliant energy. Similar to Palmer that he was a bit slack with the ball at times.

Jarvis - 8.5 - MOTM - Superb all round display. Kept Nemane at bay. Defended superbly, looked a threat going forward. Enjoy him whilst he is here.

Whitaker - 7 - Good energy and good press. Some nice touches.

McGoldrick - 8.5 - Started slowly but what a second half. Stunning goal. Unreal work rate. Top pro. Sign him up.

Grant - 6.5 - Similar to Whitaker but drifted in and out a little more.

Edwards, Gordon, Johnson - All fine, came on to do jobs with the biggest job done.

Hinchy - A couple of beautiful pieces of play in possession.

Traore - Slip this lad through and he will tear away from every defender at this level. Anything we get out of him this season will be a bonus.

Slocombe - 7 -Assured, came for crossed, much better with his out ball tonight.

Macari - 7 - Solid work rate , never met them settle on the ball .

Platt - 7.5 - Win virtually every header and tackle and read the game superbly.

Bedeau - 7.5 Great speed, lots of burts forward and again great reading of the game. Class act all season

Tsaroulla - 7 -Some great running tonighy, linked up well, took his man on time and again with some great crosses and a lovely finish for his goal.

Palmer - 6.5 Mopped up plenty of loose balls, good harassing and tackling but some sloppy passing at times.

Abbott - 7 - Solid as ever, showed great desire and hunger and harried their players all night long. Not quite his usual force going forward.

Jarvis - 9 - MoM - Had the beating of Nemane all night long both defensively and attacking wise. Great passing and some beautiful dribbling and boy what a goal .

Grant - 6 Lots of effort and some good touches and passing but seemed a little languid and second to the ball too often. The weakest link tonight.

Whittaker - 8 - Huge heart, ran himself off the park, tackling, harrying, looking for runs between the lines. No real chances on goal but was a huge part to pegging them back.

Didzy - 8.5 Is this guy really 37? Best player in first half , fantastic quality finish, never stopped running, some clever footwork, a team thorn in Their side. Please sign him up for another year at least.

Maynard - 9 - Got the plan, the selection and the tactics spot on tonight . Deserved this result.

Subs - 7 All did their part and broke up the game to help us see out for clean sheet.
Hinchy gets an extra half mark for some passing and touches.

Agree with Irish Pie that MKD offered very little but I felt this was because of the aggressive Notts press and constant harrying of anyone in possession. I even had a pang of pity for Dan Crowley who looked completely lost in the choruses of derision. Our high tempo, particularly in the second half, means I’m minded to up the marks.

Slocombe 7 One hairy moment otherwise totally competent dealing with very little
Macari 7 Nothing to find fault with
Platt 8 The usual granite-like approach
Bedeau 8 Imperious in defence and many touches in forward forays
Tsaroulla 8 Used a good helping of possession well and unleashed a rocket for our second
Palmer 8 Didn’t let a harsh yellow card disrupt a composed performance
Abbott 8 A complete competitor and comes out with the ball when it’s 70-30 against him doing so
Grant 7 Often seemed to be cruising but still had positive moments
Jarvis 9 Agree with the match-day MoM adjudicator on this occasion – tormented their defence and capped the performance with a superb strike. Also did important defensive cover.
McGoldrick 8 As Irish Pie says, the goal alone is worth the mark
Whittaker 8 Got through a lot of work out of possession which helped the overall team performance
Subs: All maintained the team’s impetus and Hinchy looked absolute class.
    Full marks, Maynard

Slocombe...6.5. Clean sheet. say no more.
Bedeau... 7.5... Easy to see why he's a fans favourite.
Platt... 7.5... Someone once said it's all about partnerships. And Bedeau and Platt have a good one.
    Macari... 6.5...Solid
Jarvis...8.5... MOTM Nice balance, and beat his ne(man)e numerus times.
Palmer..6.5 One or two stray passes, but the metronome kept ticking.
Abbott...8.5... MOTM... energy, tenaciousness and visionary passing.
Tsaroulla...7.5.. Alert for his goal and positive contribution throughout.
Grant... 6.5.. I study Grant because i'm never quite sure about his strengths. But again, he pressed, he passed, he linked, and he tried to dink a goal. he's growing on me.
McGoldrick...8... How many times has his quality broken the deadlock. An inspiration. Terrible goal celebration.
Whittaker...7.. Played effectively. We have a great crop of young players at the moment.

    Subs All did well.

Maynard.. 10..Agree with the OP, he's showing what he can do. He's an experienced and effective young manager.

    Slocombe 6 due to inactivity
    Bedeau 7.5 mobile
Platt 7.5 solid as a rock
Macari 6 not totally convinced but did a job
Jarvis 9 clear MOTM stunning goal and real threat

Grant 6 a rising tide lifts all boats

Whittaker 7 never judge a player too early, improving and with lots of potential

Subs : what a lovely game to join the action

Maynard : 9 well done Sir. Attacked Nemane?s defensive frailties, pressed and harried well and played plenty of pretty football with end product . Can?t give full marks because of the first half

Fans : 9 great encouragement throughout even when 0-0, good noise and appreciated the effort Crowley?s return gave the team

Since Macari has been back the defence has looked really solid once again. As for Nemane, he was crap, that's why we got rid..

Absolutely loved yesterdays game, I cannot give my ratings as I was suitably sloshed from hospitality. But it was great to see some flair and end product, every player put in a shift as well.

    Really can't fault anyone

Met Mike Edwards in Hospitality. What kind man he is, spent a while chatting to me and my old man, his friend was equally nice too.

    (He's Toquays assistant manager btw)

Crap or not, the fact MK Dons like to overpay for players under their current owners no doubt paid a big part in it.
