We had a goalless draw at the Valley the last time the two teams met, but a much better outcome yesterday with a Charlton win against a very spirited performance by Mansfield.
Matty Godden opened the scoring for the add1cks with his 17th goal of the season after pouncing on an attempted back pass by the Stags player Louis Reed to his goalkeeper. Matty easily sent the GK the wrong way when his goal went in.
Matthew Craig scored a cracking shot from the edge of the area to equalise for Mansfield who finished the first half on the ascendant.
But normal service was resumed for the Add1cks after the break. Again Tyreece Campbell added another goal to his tally with a cracking strike, Chuks Aneke turning provider.
Thereafter Charlton saw out the game with McIntyre stepping up to the mark in place of the excellent Lloyd Jones. And Charlton remain in 4th, 10 points clear of 7th with 6 games to go.
Mansfield Town goal: Craig 41
Charlton goals: Godden 22, Campbell 75
