    Jalo

I thought he did very well yesterday and I'd like to take the opportunity to congratulate the lad on his performance yesterday .

I've previously criticised the lad and thought he was a little over hyped , that's not necessarily the lads fault but more a case of the times we live in with social media and I dare say an uneasy love of celebrity culture .

Watching him yesterday it occurred to me that coming off the bench isn't his strongest attribute and until he attains more experience it's best to start him in games and develop the lad in that way .

That doesn't mean he starts every game but more he starts more games than he comes off the bench in .

He's not an impact substitute and I've judged him wrongly .

This leads me to believe that if Jalo is to have a very good career and develop in the right way he needs to remain at this club and start league one games .

The worst career move i can visualise is that he moves to a PL club and gets absolutely lost in that system or gets farmed out on loan here , there and everywhere .

If someone offers stupid money then I guess it will be taken but none the less I firmly believe at least another year here starting games would be more beneficial to everyone concerned .

This kid gets 20 league one goals at 19 years of age next season and you'll improve any offer made this summer in my opinion if you add the extras in a John Stones way .

It just shows we don't always see the game the same way because I've never got the criticism Humphreys gets , I think he's a real asset when he runs at defenders and I also think Watters makes some cracking runs and his pace is also a real asset .

    Funny old game .

That's a fair and balanced post. I think you're right, Jalo should be here next season starting games. There's no doubt that he's an exciting and pacy player. With the ball at his feet, he reminds me of Clint or Bullock in terms of dangerous quick feet and ability to leave opposition players confused and on their arse yet at the same time, get the crowd off their arse too! His second goal yesterday was brilliant how he peeled off which made space in front of him, got the ball on the front foot, and showed calmness and composure, going one way then the other and pinging one into the roof of the net. It has to be said the defending was poor but let's not take anything away from Jalo.

With Humphry's Animal, he seems like he needs to get his head up more and use some footballing common sense. His ability to run with the ball, that I do like, but, it has to be said, he makes some brain dead choices at times having got himself in good positions. I must question his attitude at times too. I feel that he could give more to the team in terms of using his physical presence far more effectively than he currently does. We don't see enough of him holding the ball up and bringing in team mates. I feel he could certainly add that to his game which would make him not only a better player, but also enable him to give a better all round contribution.

It is a refreshing change to be discussing two wide players for a change , Jalo is a real talent who has the potential to have a very good career, so far he has had some serious injuries to contend with which has obviously hindered his development , we must respect the coaches of the national set up in Portugal and if they see something in him then do doubt there is, it frustrates me with our fan base that they expect every young player who puts on the shirt to be the finished article when it is clear that they are not and some of the stuff I have read from other social media outlets about him have been nothing short of a disgrace , we need to exercise patience , the lad has had what 2 starts ? my word , lets judge him when gets another year or two of his development behind him and meanwhile encourage and support the lad , fair play to Conner who seems to have brought him into the fold withe future in mind and lets hope he kicks on . Humphries splits opinions and can be frustrating but he is talented and he is a strong player , I believe Conner sees him as an asset out wide and he certainly has impressed recently , I would like to see him get another contract and hopefully he will prove his worth .

You can't ever underestimate the value of confidence in your strikers , it's one of the least discussed attributes in the game .

Lack of confidence leads to the extra touch taken or the trying to make sure scenario and most successful strikers are successful because they don't care one jot about missing chances .

It clearly bothers Watters and Humphreys when it doesn't go for them , Clarke showed his lack of managerial nous when he hauled Watters off in the game at Bristol Rovers when Max missed a catalogue of chances that afternoon .

Nope you leave them on , they aren't ever scoring sat on the bench and Clarke sucked the last bit of confidence out of Watters that afternoon that remained in my opinion .

I take the point we aren't talking about Moore and Woodrow here or Winnall and Fletcher but they aren't Tommy Wright or Kane Hemmings either .

He was excellent when he came on against Cambridge the other week but then didn?t look quite as sharp the game after.

Saturday was his best game for us by a country mile. He absolutely ripped them to shreds and they clearly noticed this as they doubled up on him after a little while.

Hopefully he can put a few more good performances in this season, then have a really good preseason in the summer and come in all buns blazing for august.
