    Division One Playoff Officials.

These officials continue to blunder but no doubt they will be promoted to the Premier League.
The first goal given to Leyton Orient is scandalous.

Unfortunately its par for the course, third rate football with third rate officials, shocking to say the least with Orients first goal being a complete joke, Blunkets dog would have given that off , but you only have to cast your mind back to Mr Robinson , things have not changed.

Problem is Shad you start bringing VAR in to an environment most of us aren't used to and it takes some getting accustomed to .

As you know I'm an ST holder at Wakefield Trinity and the games are getting longer and longer as each season goes by , it's almost a 2 hour shift now for an 80 minute game .

I take the point there's more to look at upstairs because there are more points scored in RL than football but it's getting to be a real ball ache at times , some of the decisions can take five minutes .

I don't know what's best anymore with the technology , yes you get the right decisions 99% of the time but it comes at a price with the stop , start nature of it .

It was only supposed to be used when an obvious error occurred such as yesterday at Orient for instance but they use it for everything now almost .

It needs reforming in both football and Rugby League .

I am not advocating VAR for lower league football as I really do not like how it is used in the present form in the premier league , it should be improved being that teething problems should have been ironed out by now but it continually causes issues and as you rightly point out the delays and the time pauses have a negative effect for spectators and viewers , I would just like to see officials be better trained and more accountable plus I have always had this idea in my head that I would like to see four linesmen in the professional game to assist the referee , you will never erase human error and thats fine but basic errors are inexcusable , surely for example if there had been a linesman on both sides of the field yesterday one of them would have flagged for offside for Orients first goal , it would also mean that there would be no blind side for a linesman but obviously it would need trialling and I know it is never going to happen , it is just simply my thought on how we could improve things.
