Whilst we await the transfer season madness, just wondering about strange or unusual jobs anyone has had?
As a much younger man I had a brief placement at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. One job was helping out in the lab where antivenom treatments for snake bites was being developed/researched. Spending a bit of time in close proximity to some highly venomous snakes was interesting. Still in touch with someone who on that placement ended up working there as an expert in the field of Malaria. Helped me to understand that snakes aren?t ?aggressive? as such, but just ?defensive? and other than the giant constrictors, no snake wants anything to do with humans

My first job was a Saturday job in a barber shop in parkgate.
It has saved me a fortune in hair dressing bills for my wife and kids! Probably the most cost effective experience 😂
My most bizarre job was a high pressure hydraulic quality control post. It entailed me hoeing round all of the nuclear installations in England and testing all of their maintenance tooling including the reactor floors which are incidentally made of hydraulic cylinders.
One of my first 'jobs' turned out to be the easiest I ever had. As a student, worked the shutdown weeks at BSC. I say 'worked' but I don't think I ever did any work. 14x12h shifts as a 'mate' to blokes who did nothing but drink tea, read the newspapers, go to the pub (Temple) and sleep.
After Uni, got a job working for The Antarctic Survey but literally got 'cold feet' and decided against it when I read horror stories of the cabin fever others suffered whilst working in such remote circumstances for 9+ months of the year.
