PS- this is one area that the US does well at. Some good ones have come out of the states and done very well. They should would be a lot more economical.

I'm a little puzzled on this one and hope someone has some insight on it. The interwebs are abuzz with the rumors and I've seen as high as 40 million. He appears to be Pool's 3rd choice keeper next year. I've also read about the fact that you have to have played in the prem to understand it.
That may be the case for field players but I'm sorry, I don't subscribe to that at the keeper position. In fact, some of the best prem keepers the last 10 years came from other leagues and starred immediately. The physicality and fundamentals are the same in any higher level league for keeper.
Not opposed to signing another teams cast offs at this position but spending big money to do it seems foolish.
It also seems odd that Darlow's not even mentioned as a possibility. He was in some real pressure situations and had some wandering wing backs for his 6 games. He controlled the box well and was a stabilizing influence. I'm much rather spend big money on a striker, wing back, center mid or even a wing (assuming we lose Solomon) than keeper. It also seems strange we don't look at leagues like the Bundesliga or Serie A which ask a lot of their keepers.

Both Darlow and Kellegher are better than Misslier, so….
Kelleher seems a quality keeper but 40m on one player seems a lot given how much we need to reinforce. If blades don?t go up the Cooper is good, you already know I?m a fan of Johannson.
Wonder if they are factoring in the deferred Man City decision which some are predicting might not be until well into next season and just spend what they want.
The lad from Marseille is also around 49m in value, Mcatee is supposed to be valued at about 20m and Solomon at 15m. Those 4 players assuming any truth to any of them and that they happen would be about 115m - a lot of money for a promoted team on so few players.
Also being linked with some fairly expansive LB options.
Fair fee free agents - Coufak being linked but surely he?d rejoin Moyes. KDB would be a Rapha esque signing but appears a mere pipe dream. Mitchell from Palace. Think Lewis Cook?s contract was due to expire this summer unless he has already extended it.
Sure Farke will be mentioning Beundia and his fee agreed with loan club was supposed to be about 17m.
All great but if they spend big and we then get relegated then we will be well and truly stuffed!
Didn’t know they were looking 40mil.
Not worth that
greek rb from panathinaikos also linked
Nothing wrong with darlow, welsh international, done nothing wrong when he came in.
40 million is way too much. So much paper talk already though.
This rumor doesn't seem to lose any steam. Every interweb article says how good he'd be. I'm sure he's very good but 30-40 million for a back up keeper?
I'm sorry but the prem is not that much different than la liga, bundesliga or seria A as far as keeper quality goes. Some really good ones available for a lot less money. I also can't help but wonder if some one that plays for a team where the Keeper "gets hung out to dry" isn't better than someone that plays for one of the best teams in the world and gets 5 shots a game at him.
I"m not MLS fan but there are some really good keeps in that league. They have to be because their defenses aren't that good. They get tested regularly and they'd been so much less expensive. The yanks do produce some really good keepers and have for years.
The money pool is only so deep and we can get better bang for the buck at striker or wing back than keeper. Just my 2 cents.
He also plays well for Ireland, internationals maybe not as good as PL, he?d been no1 in a majority of PL teams, he?s no2 to probably the best keeper in world
